On Sunday a story is released saying Wolves and Nuno will have “Limitless” funds and there will be big targets.

Today this story is announced http://dailym.ai/2hzh5DZ.

I am a realistic person but I just want a glimmer of hope.

Feel free to rinse me for this but just imagine, to quote the Power Rangers movie “anything is possible”

I don’t think I could see him going to somewhere like the MLS, China or the Middle East when he reaches the last few years of his career.

He’s driven by winning and I don’t think his ego would allow him to be away from a top league or not being the main man, maybe someone like his agent could persuade him to take on a new project where he’d still be relevant and could add another dimension to what he’s achieved when he reaches those final years.

I think the headline about limitless funds has been slightly overblown. It doesn't necessarily mean we'll be signing £50m players. I take it as meaning Fosun are not imposing a transfer kitty on the manager- which is consistent with their current approach. If they identify a target and see value for money, they will invest in that player. £15m for Neves may seem like a lot, but if we sell for £30m, it's great business. For that reason, I'm not convinced Fosun would sign Ronaldo even if it were a possibility (unless they weighed in shirt sales etc as part of the value for money).

Ignoring the fact Ronaldo has said he would only come back to Man U, I just can't see Nuno wanting some as so potentially divisive. If Ronaldo were to come he would expect hero worship from everyone!

Besides which he'll want to go to a team which has qualified for the Champions League and I doubt that the Midlands is an area he'd want to live in.

The only way this is going to happen is if Uncle Jorge has secret photos of CR in a compromising position, and Jeff has secret photos of Uncle Jorge in a compromising position ....

On one hand, what a statement for three seasons he'd still be one of the top players in the country. Secondly, I truly believe that he'd be a good influence on the younger players, he's a winner, yes petulant but I think he's mature enough now to recognise he'd have to play the senior role model on the pitch.

On the other hand, Nuno is top dog and I wouldn't want to undermine that in any way. If Christiano demanded to play in every game regardless of form and that would immediately have an affect on the rest of the team and Nuno's standing.

Lots of ifs and buts, would he come, unlikely, would he be the stellar signing to launch ourselves in China, very likely, could we afford him, possibly, does he fit in with the new Wolves ethos hhhmm, not sure. Would I like to see him in a Wolves shirt next season, too right!

    This!
Fosun are a business and will make business decisions and means they will not be looking at big million pound players, it will be more of the same younger players with a potential of developing and making a profit.
I find all this talk of Champions League and money to burn as a tad embarrassing.

I have said all season (much to the amusement of my friends) that should Wolves be in the top half of the Premier League, I would not be surprised to see him rock up here at the tail end of his career. When he is not good enough for Man U or Real etc etc.... Would push Fosuns wolves into the arena they apparently crave to be in.

Long way to go yet before we can think about this though...

Only at Wolves could we link ourselves to arguably the best player in the world whilst in the Championship.

I do think things like this (probably not the magnitude of Ronaldo, but a tier down) will be attempted by Fosun to try raise our profile, but doubt it'd ever happen. The likes of James Rodriguez etc, if he's out of favour at Madrid and I believe Mendes is his agent? Maybe they'd chance their arm. But it's not gonna happen.

Probably the same ones who ****ed themselves at the thought we'd be managed by a Champions league coach and be attracting Champions league played in the Championship.;)
I very much doubt it but he would be an investment in raising our profile around the world (China, cough, cough) not just as a player, good as he is as he's no resale value.

I said to my brother, slightly tongue in cheek perhaps, at the start of the season, if we go up this season that it I see it not implausible we would sign CR. He to paraphrase Bob Monkhouse, laughed, well he may not be laughing now!

OK it's not likely I know and may not even be a good call footballing wise, though there are lots of reasons why you could see Fosun and JM engineering it, what is most pleasing is that we are in such a place now, after such a long time with such limited ambitions, that a little flight of fantasy is good for the soul!

This is absurd, but there is something that nags at me about it.

He’ll know Nuno, they’ve been in the same Portugal squad together, and he’s stated he wants to come back to England. If Man Utd isn’t an option, would we be not enough of a threat to them to sign for, even if we’re aiming for that end of the table (ie he’d turn down Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, City, etc. out of respect)

There’s the Mendes link, and whilst it wouldn’t fit in with the general Fosun type signing, they do know the requirement for experience (Miranda isn’t a young one we’ll make money on). Get Ronaldo and it pretty much guarantees any of your other transfer targets are going to be begging to sign.

    Anyway, back down to reality...

There are plenty of things in your (everyone’s) normal daily life that make you feel embarrassed. There are things that you see or do at work or on a night out that might be embarrassing. You might get embarrassed about your nationality in some situations.

This, however, is not something to be embarrassed about. We’re just giddy with good feelings after 30 some odd years of ****.

Lighten up and feel good. Don’t worry what others think. I mean who gives a **** anyway?

Pretty sure its not going to happen. I think more Neves type deals are likely rather than going after aging superstars.

Wouldn't worry too much. It's all largely tongue in cheek, bit like my grandkids getting the Argos catalogue and ringing every technology toy as a Must have Christmas present.
Few of us seriously think it will happen, it's just international break boredom.
