My phone stays in my pocket.....
I know, but just hypothetically. Just interested what people would say.
I read an article about how they use it in the NFL and how clubs have used data analytics to increase revenue through matchday apps. As we are owned by an investment company it would make sense for them to look at it as a way to boost revenue.
Forget wifi I want the ability to pay by card for food and drink in the stadium. 2019 and I have to carry cash is a joke
They're not generally untouched around Molineux on match day. And waiting for 5G to roll out won't solve the problem either.
No releasing far more spectrum and capacity in an area won't.......
Ridiculous thing to say.
I was being sarcastic.
5G will make a huge difference, but not according to you.
Don't make assumptions unless you know how the technology works.
That's exactly what I said. 4G was supposed to make a huge difference but hasn't in the context we're talking. 5G is not going to be available to the majority of people anytime soon.
The 4g seems okay at Molineux, bit slow at HT but no need for WiFi surely? With everyone logged on to Molineux servers it'll be slow anyway.
What 4g networks work at Molineux on match day? I’m with o2 and get nothing from when I get to Billy Wright statue before the game and top of Waterloo road after the game .
There's 90 minutes of football and I might be in the ground for 135 minutes total. Others even longer.
No brainer we should have wifi and it's the least paying customers should expect in this day and age.
And I quite frankly couldn't give a shiny ****e if others want to look at their phone while the game is on.
You can pay by card in the North Bank.
EE is poor to non-existent in the SBU
People are getting a little bit unnecessarily heated on here over this like a Gregg's vegan sausage roll.
Wifi would be good to have for those that want to use it and those that don't wont use it. It's not like having it will mean everyone if forced to use it.
I get into the ground an hour before kick off as I like to watch the players warm up, I don't drink alcohol at games as I think it effects me watching the game properly and would be going for a pee constantly. These are the ways I like to enjoy a match day, but I wouldn't say everyone should be in that early and not drink cause we are all different and enjoy different aspects of the game. As long as everyone is there supporting the boys during the 90+ minutes then that is all that matters.
****ing glory hunter
i'm on giffgaff which is 02 and on the only time my wife has tried she got through to me on the south bank no problem.
I managed to get on the mix at halftime in FA cup game, from the SBU, on 3 network.
Bit slow but manageable.
North Bank has pay on card.
Prob not worth it while we wait development.
O2 struggles in the city itself on a match day never mind the stadium.
They haven't got the capacity and won't have it until 5G.
I'm actually shocked people still use them in 2019.
So much better, cheers Pagey
Strange. Fine in the South Bank. It can all depend on the handset though as I said earlier.
Could be because we're next to the uni tower block.....all the masts are on the top of it.
Rather this than the wifi.
Looks like the WiFi's have it.
I demand a revote as the vote did not have the outcome I wanted...
Under 40 and don’t need WiFi. If you can’t live without WiFi for a small amount of time then you should really be having a good look at yourself. Spend your halftime in the bar or talk to people or endure the terrible half time entertainment.
It would be useful if they put the scores up at half time, they used to do it but I don’t think they do anymore? I’ve not seen it anyway.
Do other clubs have it? Im not sure if they do.
Without going into too much technical jargon, 5G carries a lot more traffic, at higher speeds than 4G.
4G on EE and Vodafone, is a lot different to 4G on O2 and Three.....simply due to the amount of capacity each network has. EE and Vodafone invested a lot in initial capacity and now further technology to provide even more with some crazy speeds. Handset dependent. You can have an iPhone X next to an iPhone 5s at Molineux. The X works great. The 5S absolutely nothing.
O2 have purchased a serious amount of bandwidth for 5G. They didn't with 4G. It'll make a huge difference to their customers.
Need to have a look at yourself if you can't go 2 hours without having to go to a bar! ... But seriously I think the point is to give everyone the different options to enjoy their time.
I personally like to use my phone to communicate with fellow fans on twitter and check news before the game as I am in the ground for an hour before kick off and there is no other bugger to talk to .
Maybe if the club provided better media facilities in the stands, like TV's that haven't gone pink with a grainy picture, people wouldn't need to check their phones.
according to my provider I'm meant to be on the uks best network which is *******s plus in the middle of the contract meaning it's not possible to try other networks
I can 2nd that useless in j3 for on EE
Omg, how is it that the pink tvs are not fixed... been half a season nearly, in the newest stand. Do the staff not see them broken and think... ill look into that! Its prob just a loose connection.
This too minor of an issue for fans parliament?
Sounds like the north side of the ground is on a different cell site. Probably the one above ASDA.
Definitely won't have the capacity the one top of the Uni building has.
The one in S1 has been like it since August.
Can we not just have Sky Sports News on the screen like 90% of all the other clubs?
Wolves have surely got Sky haven't they??
you may have something there mate
Although we are only a fraction of fans I think the vote speaks for itself despite a few very vocal posters who oppose it. Looks like the majority would like it in some form
Looking at most the comments, our bookies must be making a fortune.
No wifi during the game please. Always proud when photos show the south bank celebrating with no smartphones aloft. Old school and something to be cherished compared to many other stadia.
They don't know what they're doing, to quote the song.
Just my opinion though. Stuff like this and VAR etc ruining football. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Watch the blumin match and (attempt) get a pint and pie at half time.
What do you need your phone for anyway.
Wolves and being at the match is my ultimate escapism for EVERYTHING for a few hours in the week.
When watching the match on tele (or sky) at home, I tell the missus, that I’m away to the Wolves match. I then plug the head phones into the tv and for the next couple of hours I’m a certified lunatic, screaming and shouting at the tele. Kicking and heading every ball.
Half time, I go for a pee, then pop in the kitchen for additional beer and nibbles and then straight back in front of the tele.
What the hell do I want me blumin phone for during that period?
If I’m at the match or watching it on tele, I’m NOT available. I’m NOT contactable.
