Oh also, if Rafa moans about VAR he needs his head checking. VAR and we have a penalty on Jota in the first fifteen minutes and it's a different game so he can **** off.

Like a Die Hard finale with real yippee ki yay finish. Like watching Nemo and his friends break the net and escape. This was a real backs to the wall game where a stroke of luck and some Bolly grit saw us take a point.

It was a Steve McQueen great escape. Clint Eastwood and Alcatraz. A never say it's over Harrison Ford in The Fugitive.

It was just ... I'm all bamboozled but I will bloody take it. Oh yes I will!

Some players need to step it up again. A case of too much sun for a few. We can do better but fair play to Geordies, they played well.

That’s a foul on their keeper by Boly all day long. If that had been against us, I’d be devastated. To be fair to Toon, they played well. We weren’t clinical enough but a point is a good result.

    It’s still a foul though.

Had bits tonight, last third we lost the ball so many times it became frustrating. Had a few good chances and thought a point was a fair result.
Never leave with 3 mins to go either!!

We weren't at our best today admittedly, but most of those comments are way off the mark IMO.

Point was absolutely fair. No way we deserved to lose but not sure we quite did enough to win. We were the better side though.

Fair enough from Benitez. Has obviously seen a replay of the goal.

Shame though as I was looking forward to another Rafa rant...

Overall, I think we deserved the draw. It was one of those games where the ball just didn't seem to run our way. Newcastle outnumbered us in midfield but we still found a way behind them but nothing seemed to drop.

I thought Boly had a poor game with his distribution being particularly weak but then he pops up at the end to grab us a point. The substitutions have been mentioned by others but I could see what Nuno was thinking with Costa. Only problem is that Costa is nowhere near the player he has been. For me, Nuno wanted him to take Newcastle on and get to the by-line but it just didn't happen. Traore picks up some criticism but he made a difference and that's what you're looking for from any sub.

At the back we were solid and apart from Patricio's error, I didn't think Newcastle troubled us much. Then they took the lead and we have to open up the game a bit more. There was always a danger that the Toon would grab a second as we did that but to be honest, it would have been a travesty.

Patricio - 5 - Gave the throw away that led to the goal then allowed a basic shot to beat him. Distribution is causing real concerns.
Bennett - 6 - Steady game. Did everything well and I only saw one occasion he made an unforced error.
Boly - 5.5 - Poor game for Boly and he redeemed himself at the end. He made four poor passes first half when under no pressure and he looked hesitant on the ball.
Cody - 7 - Marshaled everything well and used the ball well. Some good tracking and his reading of a game is superb.
Doherty - 6 - Didn't get forward much but that was because Newcastle knew his threat and countered it.
Jonny - 6 - Steady but didn't really do much when in attack.
Neves - 7 - Used it well but was well closed down the majority of the time.
Mountinho - 7.5 - Got clobbered twice early on but was still our best player IMO. Always has a pass and always knows what he is doing.
Dendonker - 6 - Average game, used his strength well and was sound defensively.
Jimenez - 5.5 - Ball just didn't run for him. He tried, gave it his best shot but not his night.
Jota - 6.5 - Reasonable game but still tries to do too much. Used his body strength well on a couple of occasions and looked our best attacking threat but Newcastle were alive to his danger and closed him out of the game second half.

    Subs:
Costa 5 - Ineffective. Nuff said.
Cav - 6 - A couple of runs down the left bought some corners and got us behind them but the quality on his crosses wasn't good enough.
Traore - 7 - Came on late and affected the game immediately. People question his overall quality but he plays these cameo roles and earns us points.

Newcastle - Tactics spot on from Rafa and must have thought it was Christmas when they scored. I think he'll know we were the better team but his plan to snatch the game almost worked. They had their moments with Rondon in the first half but really didn't put us under a lot of pressure. They will stop up because they can knock it around and there are three worse teams. Hopefully next season we can do the double over them. They were good value for the draw but Wolves can play better than that and we will learn from this game and the manager's tactics. Rafa can whinge about the added time but his substitution in added time was designed to waste time. Credit to the ref for allowing extra time for it. Also, it would have taken some balls to disallow it. ;)

Yeah, that's my thought: it's not like we ever dominated enough to deserve to absolutely win the game but we fought enough and had enough chances that we'd have felt hard done by if we'd lost. I would say that if ether side merited edging it... it was us. Just.

Newcastle fans must hate us. Boly (accidental) elbow and a 94th min goal in the first game and now a Boly goal and 95th min goal in this. Love it.

Mr Creozote was fuming at the end and looked fit to burst. I fail to see why as we gifted you a goal and scored a perfectly good one ourselves. The ref is an ex goalie apparently and saw nothing wrong with the goal, your keeper forgot to jump.
You're not near the bottom of the table for no reason. Instead of blaming everyone and everything for failing to win games, maybe you should.. I don’t know.. try and win one.
When we came up we were brave enough to have a go at all teams and it has won us lots of admirers and points. You and your "Giant" of a club are where you deserve to be based on the negative football you play.
Well done again Adama, lucky cross, but you battled for it.

    I don’t understand the love-in for Newcastle.

They played well with the ball for about 15-20 minutes. Everything else was Wolves trying to win the game.

A team controlling the game out of possession versus one controlling it with the ball - it depends what you want to see.

Sky apparently think that Almiron is the 2nd coming of Christ. I thought he was bang average and should have been booked for an embarrassing dive.

**** off Sky. **** off Rafa.

If they had scored in the 95th minute yes it was 2 points blown as it panned out it was a point salvaged.

Nuno: refuses to blame Rui when asked directly... talks about the team shape being poor for the goal instead.

Protect the individual... it's about the collective, the team.

Probably give him a rollicking in the dressing room. Two horrendous mistakes in about 60 seconds and it could have cost us big style. You could even argue it did because without that Newcastle would never had scored.

Their goalscorer interviewed on sky and he said their game plan was to chase our back 3, as they identified that they are terrible playing the ball out!!!

I think our back 3 are ok.

Not great but hats off to the boys to keep trying right until the end.

Terrible from both Boly and then Patricio for their goal. Thought most of our players were quiet, especially Jimenez and Moutinho where we’ve come to expect perhaps unrealistic performances from them every week. The Donck played well again.

Traore looked pretty good when he came on. His cross for the goal was horrific, but they all count if someone gets on the end of it!

Hopefully the boys now leave the game on a high going into Sunday. All things considered, decent point.

Any Newcastle fans saying it was a foul on the keeper... even Rafa said the keeper should’ve done more in his interview. And time was added on because they wasted 70 seconds of injury time making a sub.

I also just saw Isaac Hayden say they identified that we “aren’t that good” at playing out from the back. Interesting. Incorrect. But interesting. Perhaps they’d do better to take a look at their own centre halves, such as the one who dived not once but twice trying to win fouls, giving away a corner both times. Melt.

I rather doubt we would have got a point at Old Trafford but for his crucial save just before half time from the free kick. Goalkeeper errors are always magnified. He's still a good keeper but he definitely has his weaknesses.

The funny thing is if you are not at the game most are watching it live at home or in pub and know the rubbish that is being spurted out here. However those who do not have access to the game can be influenced to think we are terrible and lucky to be where we are. Unfortunately in todays society it is called FAKE NEWS !

He’s not wrong either. Massive gaps all over the midfield and Boly went for a nap instead of marking his man. Collective mistake. Usually Rui bails us out in those instances but he’s only human.

The performance was nowhere near as bad as Huddersfield or Watford. While obviously not at our best I thought we were pretty good but a bit sloppy in the final third. Still the equalizer was more than deserved.

Credit to Newcastle. They fought like lions and dominated the midfield for about 20 minutes. But if I were a Newcastle fan I would still be depressed. Rafa is a football dinosaur who will get them out of trouble (just) playing what he knows best and is still decent at - negative tactics calculated to nullify the opponent and nick one winning goal. Alan Shearer deserves better than that for his soft spot for us :D
