Think it was “Tonka” off WM wasn’t it?
It was tonka who called and he was spot on but they were obsessed with laughing at him regardless of what he said. Pair of clowns!
Yes it was. They then ignored us for the rest of the time it took to get home
Later on they claimed they knew what xG was but thought it was nonsense. They came across as ignorant and patronizing towards Tonka making out they had never heard of it. They were backtracking.
This morning I got sick of hearing Brazil and Parlour bragging about their lunches and drinking and freebies. Made a change from Jose and United which seems to be a TS obsession
I only really listen to Durham and Goughy now. Durham is a bit of a wind up merchant but does actually know his stuff.
Rest of TS is terrible
Andy Jacobs said today that the decisions against Chelsea were poor. He mentioned how they dominated the game.
He then talked about certain aspects of the Man Utd v Arsenal game, the live game, which he clearly watched on TV. So how he can confirm that Chelsea dominated a game that he had not watched, I don't know.
I have heard Brazil kick off every show this week by telling us about yesterday’s big long lunch and the fact that he and Ray Parlour have another one that day.Apparently they have another one tomorrow before descending on Sandown Races.A couple of weeks ago he was telling us all that he had tickets for the Green room for Twickenham for the match against Australia.Nearly every guest who came on he was offering them his other ticket.Come the Monday he didn’t even say he hadn’t gone merely that he had watched a bit of football and rugby over the weekend back home in Suffolk.
Brazil always sounds ****ed but is it any wonder ?What other organisation would condone such activities which are bragged about ad infinitum? He is already regaling us about about where he is staying at Cheltenham which is over 3 months away and going to Barbados for the cricket.
Once a ligger always a ligger.
Jacobs was speaking through his blue tinted glasses.... so his opinion on last nights game is on a par to anything emanating from Moose Abraham’s gob.
Ryan Bennett on in a minute...
Jacobs also said that we should have statues of John Moss and Morata next to Billy Wright.
I did chuckle. They don’t like it up ‘em.
He is a ****ing tit.
Wearing gold or blue tinted spectacles is to be expected of fans, but you'd expect better of a professional broadcaster who is projecting his tosh to millions of listeners. In the whole game, there was one contentious goalmouth decision- the Boly challenge which is so contentious that I've watched it 20 times from multiple angles and still can't tell if he got the ball or not. The ref only got one view, in real time from behind. Jacobs obviously expects the benefit of the doubt to go towards his team.
Is the show with Tonka on catch up or a podcast thing at all?
Go to TS website, how to losten, listen again and find Wednesday night programme after match. He was on around 10ish I think
Yes. On the TalkSPORT App / website you can choose to replay Wednesday nights Sports Bar show in half hour segments. It’s in the first half hour and he’s one of the first callers (it plays the News first so he’s not on in the very first few
Jesus, I could get a more balanced debate having banter at work.
Sounded like 2 presenters (1 clearly a Chelsea fan) not wanting to have to listen to a Wolves fan for more than 3 minutes.
If a top 6/London club came out with something Tonka said, theyd have heard it out, discussed and debated the point.
I'm not a fan of all this expected goal stats but I wouldn't laugh like a 5 year old at someone who came out with it. Good on Tonka, I'd have lost the plot!
Talk Sport is basically a radio station for the Big 6.
And especially for Manure fans, who they always give lots of air-time to.
The two plonkers conducting the show were Adam Catterall and former Reading player Dave Kitson. Tonka came on and made absolute common sense and spoke with his normal fair-mindedness and clarity.
The two idiots were just making sneering comments about Tonka relating Match of the Day's stats about "expected goals" relative to the number of chances a team creates. Tonka was just trying to emphasise that our form merited better results than we have been getting. They were either ****ed up or too thick to grasp the point.
Tonka had a go back at them, making them seems like the idiots they are. Kitson especially seemed very juvenile. He hung up and I would love to have seen their stupid faces at that point. Viva Tonka.
The laughing did me, it wasn't like how you'd laugh if you were having banter or winding someone up.
It felt like they were trying to make him look like a mug in front of the "nation" if you like. Thankfully he grasped fairly quickly where it was heading a ****ed off.
I might give WM a bit more credit in future even if they are WUMs.
Its an awful radio station IMO - football dinosaurs surrounded by hours of advertising.
It beats me why anyone listens to it .
talkSPORT Fast forward to 18:40
Talk Sport 2 is better ......more representative of other clubs outside the top 6....And no Alan Brazil banging on about his next freebie lunch or the rest of the Scots who have taken over Talk Sport
I feel compelled to talk about the garbage I heard on there about an hour ago. On the Extra Time programme that comes on about midnight, they had ex-defender Peter Ramage on to talk about the match, where he directly and in no uncertain terms claimed that Wily Boly's elbow was basically a deliberate assault on Ayoze Perez, using the experience he gained during his mediocre career to back up the claim. The real funny part was he also said that the clearly intentional arm and shove in the face Traore received in the second half when he might have been clean through on goal was 'good defending.', and the presenters seemed to be going for all this.
I'd defend Wily to the hilt on this one. You need to use your arms to jump, you can't go accusing people of these kinds of things when players are trying to win headers with their eye on the ball.
Watch the **** row back at speed if legal action for defamation is threatened...
Peter Ramage an Ex Newcastle player of course. What a joke. He can **** right off along with this ****e excuse of a radio station.
Sounds like pub banter which it largely is so don't expect professional analysis.
Have you seen the state of Brazil lately? He looks like he's swallowed a hand grenade.
Ignore it, switch off. They can talk as much as they like, the result can't be changed.
Whilst on the subject of cringeworthy presenting - did anyone listen to the postgame summary on skysports - Waddle & co talking to Nuno & Conor. - Wow just wow - how do these people even get on TV & better still who writes the questions that they were asking?
Why do they keep getting the views of opposition's fans, players and presenters in the studio. It was the same on Wednesday when Tonka rang.
He must be in a right ****ing state then! He looked like that ten years ago!
Just had a Chelsea fan on talking about the last couple of results.
Apparently it was "ridiculous" that they lost to Wolves.
Did we really play that poorly? Such arrogance.
No but these arrogant ******s belive they only have to turn up and we will roll over and Let them tickle our bellies.
I'd understand a little if it was at Stamford Bridge BUT they were at fortress Molineux.
Maybe we're still a little under the radar, fingers crossed for more of the same from the Scouse...
I think some fans think we are newly promoted, little wolves, have had no interest in our team, style or results untill we play them.
On another day Chelsea would have took home 3 points, but we had 2 shots and scored 2, i think that says more about how indifferent chelsea were than saying the result was "ridiculous"
Bournemouth thought we were carp all they did was pass it sideways . I think they are a decent side but we didn't let them play
If you look on every teams forum we play were always a poor side and they shouldn't have lost.
I love the ignorance they all show and lack of respect long may it continue whilst we still keep racking up the points and signing even better players.
It's funny how the only teams above us in the Prem are the 'big six', yet only one of them has managed to beat us so far. Coincidence how they save their worst performances for us.
I'm pretty sure we had more than two shots against Chelsea. Only two on target maybe, but then they only managed three on target.
You see the interview with Howe after the game and it looked like a bloke bemused as to how to actually break us down, he couldn't work it out. We were bloody efficient yesterday, had all the best chances despite being nowhere near our best and Howe couldn't get his head around how we could allow his side 60%+ possession and not be troubled in the slightest
That’s what all the teams said about us last year
