i Love how only a couple of days ago people were ridiculing his 30 million valuation

He's not Harry Kane but then he's not Morata. Great for us, but think he's been far too isolated for half this season, started to panic when he got the odd chance.

Spot on. Been isolated a lot. The tweak in formation bought the best out him.

Bloke is scoring and getting assists in the Premier League and people are knocking him. 30 mill is **** all for these goals and assists. **** all.

His hold up play was shocking last night but Christ on a mountain bike I would hate to have some of you in the trenches with me.

Agree. As has been said, £30m doesn't get you much in the PL and if he continues at the rate he is, a double figure goals tally coupled with his fantastic team play makes £30m look a good deal

This guy is great - but he needs clinical wide strikers around him.

I couldn't believe how bad Morata was given what he cost them. He offered absolutely nothing. It was like watching the second coming of Grant Holt.

I say judge Jimi after a few matches playing with a firing on all cylinders Jota and MGW supporting him, rather than the lone stiker role he's had to endure so far this season. I mean most strikers would struggle in that role.

Well one has played almost non-stop and one has barely played and weighed in with two nice goals.

I'm not saying Raul is crap, he isn't. He works extremely hard, sets players up, and has grabbed 3 + a pen himself. I'm saying he hasn't been a £30m player and I'm not sure I'd be signing him up next year. I appreciate I'm in the minority but sometimes I think his effort wins more plaudits than his actual play deserves. He does have more end product that Costa and more consistency than Cav though.

30 mill is nothing in this division for these goals and assists tho. His hold up play, which we need, is shocking. But his goals and assists in THIS division are worth spending on

I had massive hopes for Costa this season, hope he can turn it around cos is looking short on confidence now.

His hold up play is in no way shocking, he brings people in from direct balls all the time.

I'm not sure it's shocking so much as unpredictable. Some games his first touch is as bad as Traore's.

Costa is a weird one. At times he's played really well but the sad fact is no goals and no assists. It's not all down to him as our finishing has been terrible, but there have been some awful final balls after all the good work. Traore creates much better chances despite looking like he's out of control the entire time.

I have a feeling we'll cash in on Costa and perhaps he'll benefit from the move. I can't see him and Cav staying another season so one or other will be on their way. I'd prefer to keep Cav as he offers us something different creatively. Raul is different too, and more of a central player.

I wouldn't pay the 35 million euros option to buy if that is true. Having said that I think he is doing a decent job if we see he has 4 goals (1 pen) + 5 assists. Means he has been involved on more than 50% of the goals scored. Not bad by a guy who wasn't even a starter for Benfica.

He needs help. MGW playing in behind him offers another dimension which has been badly missing. We must sign another central striker in any case to ease the burden on Jimenez who has worked so hard and has had to jet around for Mexico too.

Having watched the highlights of the Chelsea game I thought he took his goal really well.

That’s my entire contribution to the value debate.

    Helpful, I know. :D

I like him, he started very strongly, he has had a recent drop on form but no more than most of our players; and you could see the raw passion in his goal celebration, it meant a lot to him.

30million is a lot, but he has over half a season to justify his valuation.

We could have had Diego Costa or even Aguero playing for us and they would have had the same return playing so isolated or having to come deep or having the malfunctioning support of Costa, Jota and Traore to contend with.
Hopefully, Jota’s got his confidence back now and with MGW providing the link from the middle we will see the goals to match Jimenez’s unquestionable workrate.

Tiredness may explain the inconsistency tho my god does he miss easy chances. He's a £15m player when you account for age and ability. He's certainly the best we have for that type of player and I like his attitude. As someone else said, he has half a season left to prove himself. Take a few more chances and I'll change my mind :)

I like him and think he can have a long term future with us with regular football. He fits in well with our forwards and with decent service could start scoring routinely if his confidence builds.

30m pounds is steep, and I’d prefer something more like 20m based on his strike rate so far, but that could easily change if he hits a run of form. If he hits form, then 30m willl look a steal in this league.

He's been isolated the last 3 games, not the whole season. Statistics show he's had quite a lot of chances, a lot though created through his own movement.

I thought he hit it straight at the keeper...... at least he hit the target though and it went in, something we've been lacking this season.

Yeah I don't see why anyone would suddenly expect him to start scoring a lot of goals. His track record shows otherwise and he's missed some sitters with us and been as responsible as anyone for our poor record at putting away chances, last 3 games apart.

He's a good all round player but I'd be surprised if he suddenly moves up the goalscoring charts.

I'd be very happy to be proved wrong though :)

    And a degree of accuracy.

    And calmness.

And being in the right place at the right time.

I think he's doing well, and more importantly, he's doing what's being asked of him by his manager.
    upload_2018-12-7_12-24-42.png

Granted, the Premier leagues' Fantasy Football rankings are hardly the bottom line in footballing ability as so many other factors do come in to play, BUT, looking at that table above, we currently have the joint 5th best "Forward" in questionably the best league in the world.
    Probably worth £30m then.

People were taking about Mitrovic by way of comparison a while ago, Mitrovic scores more but Jimenez offers more for the team which is key in how we play.

Not sure I place much faith in the "stats" provided, especially from a fantasy football league lol. I base any judgement on what I see with my own eyes. To that extent, Raul has been a curate's egg; some good, some bad some OK.
His work rate is generally good and he closes down the opposition defenders.
    His passing is OK.
    His shooting is poor.
    Heading OK.
    Decision making OK.

Why does he have no resale value? He’s only 27. He’s also got over 3 million followers on twitter. Social media is only going to get bigger and the sort of exposure a club can get from a player with that kind of following adds value to him.

I prefer him out wide if I am honest than a central striker. He would benefit someone alongside him which is why I think this false number 9 formation can really bring the best out of him.
As an out and out get me goals striker he isn't it. Reminds me of a better version of Doyle which isn't a criticism at all.

Surely an established international player is, by definition, world class. If you mean top 10 in the world in the position then l agree.
