Raul is pure class. I love watching him play. A great signing imo, the kid's got it all: movement, touch, desire, etc.

Let's hope he comes back less knackered than the last international break.

He has two games against Argentina-hope he starts the first and is on the bench for the second -midnight kick off our time Wednesday plus jet lag when he flies to the UK.

Two competitive games for the Portuguese crew.

    Irish derby for Matt

    Croatia for Jonny

Jimenez had a diving header hit the woodwork v Argentina last night. Not having much luck at the moment.

Maybe not but Mexico play Argentina again in another friendly I believe on Wednesday. After playing 90 minutes last night I'd hope that there is some instruction for him not to play the full game on Wednesday. I know there's an extra day to recover but wouldn't want him knackered like he was for Watford

I think it has been mentioned that all European based players in the Mexico squad will not play in the second game and will be released to go back to their teams so they are fresh for their league games next weekend.

Saw the other day on twitter that he isnt playing in the second game. All European based players will apparently be allowed to return to their respective clubs. Great news if correct.

Our problems putting it in the net are more complex than the striker.

Raul Good header against Everton ,very bad miss at West Ham ,neat finish against Burnley, pen against Spurs -good assists against Manure and Gooners.Good all round except Watford .

Needs better delivery from wide (Moutinho against Manchester City excepted), corners(havent scored from one yet-come back Barry Douglas)and free kicks.MGW takes a mean corner.

But bad misses one to one by Jota,Costa and Traore.Cav is the only one who looks confident. They all need tap ins to get confident.

    Competition for striker essential.

Last international break he played for Mexico in the early hours of Thursday morning then flew back Thursday to take on Watford 48 hours later

Raul Jimenez... 4 Goals and 4 Assists now + always gives his all for the team like tonight 100% :)

Beginning to looking like his 30 million euro price tag what Benfica want for him!

Immense player. It’s amazing what he can contribute when he is not isolated or deep and has the other players playing in the same post code.

I wouldn't drop Jimenez even though it seems like the majority want Traore and Cav to start. I'd keep MGW in the team playing between the midfield and the forwards and just have Cav and Jimenez up front with the options of Jota and Traore as subs.

Never seemed to look up, hit it early without thinking and scored.
He’s an odd player for me. Undeniably works his balls off, Mick McCarthy would build a shrine to him.
Sometimes has an amazing first touch, other times, a bit all over the place.

As much as I like him and would want to sign him, he’s not a 30m player to me.

I don't rate him particularly but he has got goals and assists so can't knock that. No way a 30m player and I would prefer Cav to start with Jota and MGW as I think they would offer more threat on the break.

He played well tonight but no chance we sign him for £30m. I like him though and is a decent option for a newly promoted side like ourselves.

Ok I obviously watched a different game. He worked hard but he didn't play well. Did you not see the endless miscontrolled touches, head down, and ball given away? And first 30 mins positionally he was all wrong which affected us defensively.

The way we play, a lot of our chances fall to the 2 wide strikers more than just the middle one. If they aren't firing we struggle. I think Jimenez has done really well for us this season. £30m is a lot of money though.

In the current market £30m really isn’t that high. Let’s say over the second half of the season he can get to circa 10 goals and 8 assists that would be a brilliant season.

I have just watched it back again. He held on to the ball too long on one move going forward when he should have laid it out to Jota on 33 minutes... on 36 minutes he does extremely well to beat Alonso in the air to Vinagres cross and nods it back to Jota who just gets beaten to it by Fabregas.
The first 30 was not down to Jimenez being positionally wrong, it was the whole team showing too much respect to Chelsea. Please watch these so called 30 minutes again and comeback and tell me it was Jimenez that affected us ‘defensively’.
I don’t happen to think he is worth the reputed £30m but he is one heck of a player that we have become not used to watching at Wolves.

Interesting people telling us that in the first half he was playing positionally wrong? As I assume he was fulfilling the role he was asked to by Nuno, not the one you felt he should be? He seemed last night and Friday to be playing wider using his strength in the air against the full backs rather than two centre halfs. I think he is a fantastic fit for our system and the way Nuno wants us to play, £30 million is nothing now and would definitely be looking to tie him down.

Without reading replies I’m guessing now he’s scored he’s worth the 35m and not a donkey like he was Friday according to some

Truth always somewhere in the middle

I’ll await bonatini finally scoring and people revelling on that wave too

This is true he’s great for me he’d be first on my wish list to sign, but £30m does seem excessive then again if Adams’s worth £18m?

You're having a laugh here we8wba! This is like comparing mutton with lamb imo. Bonatini is no where near a thoroughbred like Jimenez.
Look how Jimenez beat the entire Chelsea back line with his speed with the pass from MGW for his goal last night. Bonatini is too slow for the Premier League or any top flight league. Jimenez is a proven Mexican international playing at the highest level in football. Sorry to say this but Bonatini will never make it at top flight football because of his lack of pace.

He was playing where nuno wanted him to and always gives his all but yeah, I felt he upset things defensively. I pointed it out just before Chelsea scored.

I love his attitude and he has got goals/assists which is more than some others but last night at the time I felt he was poor on the ball (to feet) in particular. Maybe I'm wrong! He's probably a 10-12m player for me, certainly given his age.

I don't dislike him and love his work rate but I do feel people over rate him as a result.

People talking about £30m like its lots of money these days.

His opposite number last night cost Chelsea £60m!

Based on what I've seen of both of them (obviously seen more of Jimenez than Morata) Jimenez is far more suited to the PL and I think playing in a 2 with Jota with MGW behind suits him perfectly. It probably suits Jota too who played in a similar role alongside Andre Silva at Porto.

Jimenez did well in a position I don't think suits him.

He almost played as a right winger first half and his lack of a defensive mindset let Loftus-Cheek drop 5 yards into the space which led to the goal.

I'm a big fan of Jimenez. All our other forwards have been poor this season and he's been the only positive. Wasn't there a statistic where Costa, Jota and Traore had only got one goal and no assists between them? How can he shine surrounded by that?

He'll only get better when the others start to hit form..

    Agreed Chisels..
To me Raul gives his all and shows lots of passion. He will get into the right positions to score lots more goals for Wolves. As long as he gets the right service like from the assist as from MGW gave him last night. Lets face it Raul hasn't had many assists or much help from his fellow strikers so far this season. Think the Doc has provided him with the assists for most of his other 3 goals?
