Needs his own thread! I know it’s only a friendly but he’s absolute class!
Yeah very impressive debut.
Missed the game, great to hear. What was most impressive about him?
Great first touch, sharp, held the ball, got a presence. Think he’s gone under the radar cos of signing Rui and Joao but he jumped out to me today as being a really good signing.
Yes i was impressed
He’s quite quick
He was really good today, excellent touch, puts himself about, good link up play. Could turn out to be a top signing
Yes he did look good today. Mind all four were impressive and for me particularly Jonny.
Saying that I clearly haven’t a clue after 50 years of watching football as their are some on twitter saying their not convinced by Jonny.
Ok right we’ll you live and learn.
Personally i think they need to see a doctor but we all see things differently
Surprised how pacy he is, I wasn’t expecting that for some reason.
He got into position for his goal, dare I say it, like a genuine finisher! Needs to work on his over head kicks though!
Yeah, very impressed today, fits the formation perfectly.
So...does this mean that we do not need another main striker?
Maybe not! I’d say hell defo start v Everton based on today
Looked the real deal for me, and I think he can only get better as he gets used to his new team mates. Good movement, high energy, good touch and close control and took his goal with aplomb. He's definitely our 1st choice No 9!
Upgrade on Leo that’s for sure.
Never worth the reported £30m + transfer fee if we sign him permanently.
I think that the jury is still out on that one, wouldn't you say?
Not really sure why people want a new striker when we have this guy and Bonatini even Jota and cav can play in the middle. Bigger transfer priorities must be wing back and a center back in my opinion
He scored a goal today that Bonatini would never have scored because he doesn’t have that strikers instinct.
Thought he was average the rest of the game tbh, some nice touches here and there
I’ve seen pretty much seen every Wolves full backs since mid 60s. Thought Jonny looked very good indeed and struggle to think of a better home debut. As you suggest, it’s all opinions
More displays like that and we'll see the 'Mexican Wave' every home game!
God I hope not
If Raul can do the business this season it will be a huge boost and great to hear he was impressive today. But I would like another player of similar calibre as back up/ competition. Bonatini should be an adequate third choice but not second choice imv. Its a long season ahead and if Jimenez should get injured the cupboard would be rather bare even if Jota could be used more centrally.
Thought he was superb. Worked his **** off. Had plenty of nice touches. Got into good positions, his goal being one. Brought others into play. Mainly though, and this is so important I will say it again, he worked his **** off.
I know hard work doesn't make a player but in our system if players aren't working hard we just get over run. He made sure they couldn't play out from the back and we even won a corner from his high pressing.
Much too soon to say.
Sounds like a taller, quicker version of Kevin Doyle. Hopefully more of a goal threat than Doyle.
All three debutantes have quality that is refreshing!
A few of my mates who went today, said he had a great game
you mean the one from where bonatini scored against villa?
Major upgrade on Leo
Thanks. Sounds like he has the same sort of qualities as Leo just generally better all round.
He must’ve been lost
Great to hear ... thanks!
It’s almost as if Nuno knows what he’s doing isn’t it?
It's his shirt to lose going off that performance.
I love his movement off the ball and he looks comfortable on it.
At last a no 9 that I'm feeling confident with again.
Agree his work ethic was superb.
Had a good feeling about Raul for ages, great to hear all the positivity. Really hoping he’s our number 9. Loads of tap ins will do
Glad we’re not writing him off anymore because of his performances against Germany and Brazil
