It was a terrific shot which scored the goal but apart from that...what else did he do?
They were talking behind their hands so I couldn't lip read. It must have been summat important like don't come here ffs!
Sweat. Not a lot else.
A truly average player. We can do much better I’m sure. Also doesn’t appear to work anywhere near hard enough to play up top for us.
Nope, he’s ****e. We can do much better.
How have you watched that & thought he’s better than Jimenez or Jota?
It's a norigi from me. He'll probably end up at one of the bottom 6 or in an inferior European league.
I didn't say that
For 15 million he looks alright to me. That's all.
Origi had an opportunity tonight to show he could be a top player. Yes I know he scored a decent goal but didn’t do anything else.
He has not been a regular starter for Liverpool since he signed for them and imo is definitely not for us. He does not work hard enough when compared to our Raul! No doubt Liverpool would want something like £20 million for him (like Dominic Solanke) but we would be wasting our money.
I know this topic is about Origi so I won’t mention his strike partner Daniel Sturridge who I thought was utter ****e!
Sad sight to see what injuries have done to Sturridge. An absolute shell of the player he used to be.
Thought Origi was ok but nothing more. Tough to judge him playing in that Liverpool side though.
Same thing, would he replace Jimenez or Jota no so why sign him. The lad couldn’t even put a shift in, Sturridge same, just got a decent Rep because he’s at Liverpool.
Until the Liverpool subs I would not have swaped one of our great hard working players for those in red....Great performance all round.
Jimenez is worth 10 of Origi.
Wouldn’t disagree with that too much Tring but Origi had an opportunity to set an example to the younger players in the Liverpool team tonight. He has been there long enough and has the international experience with Belgium to be better. He would be a regular bench warmer with us at best. There is no way Wolves should consider him.
He'll fit in just fine with all the other underachievers at Fulham
To be fair, Scally, I'm done with deciding who would be good and who wouldn't. Teams sign decent players and they turn out to be ****e. Teams get to loan players in and they play like demons, they take the option to buy and they then play like ****e. Teams sign players to many fans consternation and disbelief and internet invective and they turn out to be gems.
Who knows? Not even managers, CEOs and others involved in recruitment know. It's all largely a gamble.
Rubbish! Sturridge was great by his standards. He managed what? 60 mins without getting injured! Must have confused him when the liverpool centre half went off injured after a couple of minutes. That’s usually him!
I mean, who would sign sturridge as a loan option
Origi took his goal well, other than that I thought he was pretty static and didn’t work at all well with Sturridge.
Thought both Boly and Dendoncker could of been tighter to him for his goal, which other than that he didn't offer much.
It's about a squad. Not sure why you're so angry over my opinion suggesting for 15m he'd be decent value given his age and ability etc when comparing to prices in this day and age. Chill out mate
Wolves have been linked with a move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi in the January transfer window. Origi, 23, scored in the FA Cup tie between the two teams on Monday but has only started one Premier League game this season. (Birmingham Mail)
Remember, the website kills!
Not for me.
I hate the Birmingham Mail website.
If you can battle your way through advertising crap, you then get crap spouted by the Journalist
Super Mario you know it makes sense
People just wanting to spend money for the sake of it. He wouldn't fit in, his overall game isn't good enough.
Birmingham Mail have to put something on their website so repeatedly go for something that fans want to hear or based in a previous rumour If you wanted a website that perfectly sums up everything bad about news reporting look no further.
I thought that he looked dangerous in the cup game, and was always the most likely to score for the first 60 mins. Certainly better than Sturridge. Given that he hasn't played a lot this season he didn't do too badly, and I reckon with match fitness he would be a real handful for any defence.
I would be very happy to see him here.
All about who else we can't get.
Would he improve our front-line options and offer more than Bonatini? Yes.
Would offer added height and some physicality to the team too.
I used to work as a printer at the Birmingham Post & Mail and worked closely with sports journalists who were very knowledgeable about the game, unlike the current bunch who just go for cut-and-paste sensation-seeking, controversial or just click-bait tripe. It's got to be one of the worst sources available.
I think he would be a good signing. Yes he wasnt amazing on Monday but he is still young and has great potential.
I agree, once the sports reporting staff were knowledgeable and on top of the job, now we seem to have a bunch of hacks who can do no more than lift from other forums, a million miles away from being journalists. I too worked firstly on the Post and laterly on the Mail including Sunday Merc and the long lost but missed Argus. Made redundant 86.
Any opinion on Origi should be based on more than one game.
Our scouting and recruitment is generally very good these days
I don't understand what the Birmingham Mail is? It's very HITC. Do Villa Blues have actual writers reporting on their stuff? I've also noticed 75% of our headlines are negative, whilst blues and Villas are positive.
Have you tried counselling?
Exactly what I am thinking. The fans clamouring for us to "sign someone!" are probably the sort of people who had to spend their Birthday money on the day they get it, even if they end up buying stuff they don't need.
A very well respected Belgium journalist described Origi have having what you might call Pogba syndrome. Is good while he is confident but all to easy finds a reason to sulk and become ineffectual.
We are aiming higer
I'm in I thought he played well camp.Funny how we all see players differently. And I war ****ed which meks a change.
People saying he wouldn't fit in.Well he'd fit in better than Abraham would.I thought Origi worked hard up front and did his defensive duties well.A lot more than Tammy would.
Absolute dog**** player, awful signing if this is to happen.
Separate names with a comma.
