He’s already won the World Cup.
I agreed mate. Feeling delighted and smug in equal measures tonight.
People also need to understand though that he's a young lad, his form may dip but he NEEDS a long run in and around the starting 11. This is what the foreign lads get, the time to develop with and against quality players in meaningful games, make some mistakes and learn from them. The boy has everything he needs to be top class in that position between deep midfield and attack.
But your post says lee hughes?
Tonight the star was born. Like at Norwich with Robbie
I know it was a tongue in cheek remark. I'm still annoyed with Southgate over the I won't pick players from the champ then doing the opposite.
Give it a year or two mate and we’ll be up there with the elite. Although part of me will always want us to stand apart. What an abso.ute star this lad is. I’m over there kin moon tonight. We needed that win tonight. Big time. Nuno knew it. Hence his reaction at full time.
Since I first saw MGW I thought that with his skills & movement he reminded me of the great Peter Knowles. I hope he lasts longer than Knocker whose career was way too short
Any one else see the Knowles comparison?
Sancho has broken into the England squad at the same age. If he stays in the team over the winter and keeps performing like he is, why not? Not like England has an abundance of midfielders right now.
Imagine Gibbs-White / Foden / Sancho in an attacking midfield behind Kane. What a team England could be over the next decade. Not to mention Gomes at Man United and Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea. All potential to be world class. Just need the game time that Sancho and Gibbs-White are getting.
Yep. Same front three with MGW playing the 'false 9' again and dropping onto that arsehole Shelvey whenever he tries to get on the ball. As well as his on the ball ability he was really disciplined without it tonight, not getting drawn into pressing and always keeping a close eye on Fabregas, making sure he wasn't too far away.
He won't start every game and he certainly won't star in every game as he's developing but he can go a very long way
My mistake - euphoria of victory
Hopefully people well let him develop in his own time and not expect complete consistency week in week out, same goes for a few of the english lads coming through at the moment. Keep getting game time!
I hope MGW's time has come. His presence demands we go 3412 in future which I think will work better than 343 which leaves us too light in central midfield. All we need is one or two goals from MGW which he is more than capable of. He was so unlucky with that great last minute shot against Arsenal.
Huge talent, superb attitude. Deserves a run in the side, playing at 10. Hope the usual suspects on here give him time when he inevitably plays poorly.
He’s due a testimonial too
He might be my new favourite player! everything you want a young player to be and will improve! very exciting
I urge us to show patience with this kid. He's a tremendously talented player. He can become world class.
Football is at a lot about creating spaces. If you can create space with a ball at your feet you are special. He's got that. He glides past players. His touch and turn creates space almost every time. And then he knows how to put others in space with a weighted pass.
But too many young English players have never realised their full potential or seem to be subdued due to too much pressure put on them. Sometimes also they were overused and injured. Particularly the midfield guys, probably because England longs to see a all-round world class player in there. Wilshere, Barkley and even Dele Alli, whose form in the WC and this season has been far from his early exploits, spring to mind.
There's about 20 English youngsters ahead of Gomes, don't believe the united hype. However there is a phenomenal batch of attacking youngsters coming through atm.
Wow just ****ing wow
What a game he had last night
Loved how it worked out for him
Just a young kid but what a talent
Hope he starts next game
Danny Murphy's love in with him is outrageous, twice on MOTD and on Talksport. Don't think i've seen anyone gush over someone so much.
It's rare to see an 18yo English kid look so at home in the Prem (sadly), I guess they stand out like a sore thumb. Already annoyed how little time Foden has had this season. If City don't wanna play him why not give him a year somewhere else? Hopefully Sancho has shown what can happen if you take the initiative and aren't just happy to earn 20k a week in the u23's - Loftus-Cheek is a prime example, imagine how good he would be if he had done what Sancho did at 18?
Contacted by several mates that are fans of different clubs asking about him after last night. Sky is the limit. Imagine the hype if that shot against Arsenal had gone on too?
Neves. Vinagre. MGW. 3 of the biggest talents in world football playing in the old gold. What a time to be alive
We all knew he was good, but did any of us really realise that at 18 he would make a mockery of some of the best teams in Europe so early on. Tottenham, Arsenal and now Chelsea.
Just imagine if Dendoncker starts playing to the level he can and gets more minutes.
Who else in England can boast about having a midfield as young and as dynamic as Wolves?
That’s the future right there. That’s not putting it bluntly. That’s reality.
It was no coincidence Neves best half this season was when MGW was on the pitch against Spurs.
Exciting times but must stay humble because he will get an England call up soon and the cat is well and truly out the bag.
I said he same last night.
It was an amazing debut
Right up there
I absolutely loved it
One of our own too
Morgan Gibbs-White starred for Wolves in their win over Chelsea
Apologies if it’s already posted but this is a terrific article!
Add Jota 21 and Traore 22
5 guys nowhere near their prime - exciting!
Another superb performance. This Wolves player is developing nicely!
Brilliant article. And Danny Murphy is a big fan, too.
I just hope that:
a) His head isn't turned by the "benefits" and trappings that come with being a Premier League player (I don't want to see him in the gossip columns!) and,
b) He isn't tapped up by one of the so called "bigger clubs". I hope he can help Wolves become a "bigger club".
I think he signed a new contract until 2022 fairly recently. It may be already time to get him to sign another one!!!! I think the late Cyrille Regis was his agent. I hope he has another sensible agent now, who doesn't try and milk a cash cow!
Written by a wolves fan so probably a slight bias, but excellent nonetheless
Papers saying the next GAZZA
Same age as Sessegnon isn't he?
What's he doing these days at this level?
Hope not! Not in all aspects any way.
He's one of our own
He was superb last night, just superb
I would still sign him
His best position is in that CAM/no10 role. He was superb last night.
Yes, next season when they are in the Chump.
But I proper hate that song!
He doesn't seem to have the petulance of Knowles.Skill yes.
Think it's all been said. Great performance by a great talent.
Managed to get home to see MOTD last night. Lineker and co. couldn't praise the lad enough.
Brilliant night, brilliant time to be a Wolves supporter.
