One of the advantages is that Wolves would have a decent sized construction site compound close to the ground. That could then be drveloped for hotel/ car park/ leisure space afterwards.

Neutral zone like Fulham? In the south bank? Someone needs to give their head a wobble, I can’t believe you’ve actually suggested that.

Not big enough, too limited and antiquated. Why do you think that Sainsbury moved out?

    Re 3, you already are
Re 4, nah, a million times nah... Club approved songs? Stuff that!
Re 5, ok but only if they can be connected into 3...

Think that you left the at seat girl's pop dispenser off your wishlist though... Perhaps instead of 2....

Had a meeting with a planner from Wolverhampton council quite recent and we somehow got on to the Molineux. He did say pre application for possible re design and even a relocation have been disscussed with the council. However I am lead to believe the planner was unable to discuss anything further.

Based on a positive pre application a full application would be submitted this usually take around 6-8 weeks. 12 on larger ones. However depending upon the pre application they could push an application through after the 21 days public consultation.

Still an easy target to meet end of season just depends at what stage they are at.

I will keep trying to push the planner for some more info

Why all the hate for the Atlanta stadium? State of the art, modern and unique. It will become iconic I have no doubt. The Superbowl will be held there next month.

I guess everyone wants another generic identikit stadium...

We have a very iconic and vivid stadium, any further redevelopment needs to take this into
account, and retain the current stadium's feel, imo. This has really been brought out by all the
    recent live coverage.

Yes, I remember it well. If nothing else, it illustrates where expanding the Steve Bull is constrained by limits of the site and road. These plans well and truly binned by all accounts. Looking at something much bigger...

Yes you are correct, they have been binned, but it is interesting to see the constraints of the site back then as we looked to expand to 37,000. This drawing shows the current Steve Bull in red outline in relation to the footprint of the then proposed Steve Bull rebuild. Picture7.png

I hope Fosun approach the stadium design the same way they have pre match entertainment. In your face, something different, stand out from the crowd.

A few mocked the flames and fireworks at first, now the Villa have copied, others will ineveitably do too. I bet you most teams will be doing the same 10 years from now.

We should use the stadium development to put Molineux on the map. I'll be surprised if Fosun take the same route as every other single stadium in the country.

ie it isn't constrained at all. A redeveloped Billy Wright would give us a very big capacity

Love this old picture from 1929. Great view of the South Bank before it was given a roof. A Large New South Bank is a must. Picture8.png

I have never seen this render before. Very interesting.
What people haven't mentioned is that there is no real need for the road to continue past the Feathers anymore.
With the car parks gone and access to the molineux hotel the other side then all this space is available to develop as well.

As a sitting member of a Planning Commitee in another authority, I can confirm the pre-application process is a useful exercise to discuss possible issues so that a full application can stand best chance of being approved. The pre-app meetings are private AND non binding. The full application can still be rejected even if all of the Pre app comments are acted upon.

It could get rushed through if it is an officer delegated decision in a short amount of time IF all of the relevant departments complete their reports quickly e.g. highways, environment etc.

Given the scale of the project it is rather likely to be a Commitee decision as there will probably be objections. This further adds to the timeline and then factoring in lead times for materials and equipment the commencement date pushes back even further.
My planning manager feels a similar application in my city today has no chance of happening in time for a June groundbreak due to the work involved.

    Why end of next season?

The whole idea of doing the South Bank is that it is done in situ.

So. can start Augu/Sep/... - as its bulit behind. As long as its completed by next summer so the roof can come off and two sections joined, can't see it being a problem

Netural zone wouldn't be terrible, but not in the south bank!

Maybe share it with the family part of it's big enough or in a corner?

Wouldn't mind copying Morgan's plans for the ground, just make the south bank single tier and bigger like @Berlin Wolf shown above and get the Billy Wright 3 tiers, but have the middle teir smaller like at Wembley etc

I’m not claiming I know anything. I’m just interpreting what Wolves have said in public. Fosun want a much bigger ground than Morgan planned. Fosun will build a single tier South Bank, when Morgan planned a two tier stand. Fosun are buying the land behind the South Bank to enable them to achieve their plans, Morgan did not attempt to buy it, so clearly didn’t need it. Fosun will build the South Bank first, while Morgan planned on the Steve Bull next. That’s just based on the on-record comments.

There are plenty of rumours that are consistent with the on-record comments but go further, some much further, but I don’t need to cite them to demonstrate that the Morgan plans are dead.

    Perhaps you know otherwise?
