Try saying that to some of the humanids that have checked me out? Lucy wasn't loose before I evolved.
Hominids mate, not humanids. Just being a know it all. Some one has to, otherwise you plebs will never learn.
I bet at Cave School, you were the one who excelled at stone tool making and cave painting whilst I sat at the back of the class monkeying around with fire.
That's only because they didn't know what to do with it; I bet Ardavepithicus Edwards chased it around like a headless Compsognathus Take that, @Guzeppi !
Well at least you know your (small) dinosaurs. And have heard of Australopithecus. Actually that was quite good
I called my Anderlecht supporting Belgian colleague this morning to discuss Dendoncker, he generally liked him as a player, great season 2 years ago, less good last year when his defensive partner changed. Could completely see that he would fit well into to playing on the right of a back 3 but could also do a job as a defensive CM. my colleague thought it was a great move for him and really hoped he would do well because it would be good for the Belgian national team to have another player doing well in the premier League.
And there we have it. 2 Anderlecht fans surveyed and it's a 50/50 split for those that do and those that don't think he can play at right CB!!
Dunno if anyone has thought of this but Mrs.bod on hearing his name said you could start a song based on the conga/let's all have disco to Leander dendoncker. Fits perfect. Of course I can't as i'm in the Billy quiet, but someone could.
Just browsing other threads and see a lot of other's commenting that maybe Dendoncker will replace Bennett at the back, what do we think of this? Talking to my Dad the other day my view is maybe he'll partner Neves in the more difficult games against the top 6 for instance where we might need a different type of midfielder. Interesting in his interview he said he was a midfielder who can play at the back which seems to suggest where he see's himself. Obviously as with all the other players I'm sure he will give his all and play where Nuno asks him to but where do other's see him playing in the long term?
I would be quite surprised if he signed for us not expecting to play every game. That’s not going to be in midfield, so presumably it will be somewhere in defence?
That's my logic too. He wouldn't join us without being guaranteed regular football, he's not come in as backup to Neves and Moutinho, and I can't see Nuno dropping either of them unless through injury or suspension. Dendoncker is very well rounded as a midfielder, combative and incredibly hard working but also very good on the ball. He played in the centre of Anderlecht's back three last season, and struggled a little bit as this is such a crucial position where you need an experienced, commanding organiser (which we already have in Coady), so I can see him slotting in very well at RCB where he can almost be like a third midfielder when he carries the ball into midfield. He has the vision and ability to pick passes like Moutinho/Neves, and the stamina to push forward and defend as necessary. I could see him being a little like Boly in that position with his ability to bring the ball out of defence into pockets of space, drawing a midfielder and creating space for our forwards to pick the ball up. I think that was the thinking behind Saiss dropping into defence, but given how erratic Romain can be in possession and his lack of pace I don't think it's a good fit and it showed in preseason especially against Villareal. I think Dendoncker is a bit more comfortable with the ball and doesn't lack the pace Saiss does.
I think so too, but might take a year of shuffling around various positions as needed until he settles there.
Can't see that in a million years. Take Coady out of our team and the whole thing is weakened considerably.
You may want to ask Anderlecht fans what they think of him playing as the sweeper in a back three before you come to that conclusion...
So after two games...Any openings for his first start, I persume he hasn't come to sit on the bench and will be straight in when ready.
So where we gonna play him? Is he a replacement for Coady or will he sit between defense and midfield, pushing Neves further forward?
He'd be perfect on the right of our back three, but as a sweeper he doesn't have enough of a commanding presence to organise a defence.
For me it’s going to be tough for somebody who has only played at Anderlecht to just come into the team & be up to pace with the Premier League, whether that be in the back 3 or in midfield. The fact Saiss hasn’t had a lookin in the midfield suggests this guy will probably play centre half for me also.
