One of the best players in the world by all accounts and some on here think we can do better......delusional.

    James

There's a phone call from Jorge Mendes.

It could be " Destiny calling ".

Appealing and fanciful but don't need him or his type as yet with our current situation.

It's all about work ethic and 'development'......can't envisage benching Jota or Jimenez with what we are and need to be about.

James would fit in as the 10 perfectly in many ways but I agree with WonderWolf he doesn't seem like he is a Nuno type of player. Can't see him chasing down a ball from a keeper to a CB like Jota/Raul do all game long. Loads of ability though.

Been woeful in the games I've seen. Last night he hardly got a kick.

In our formation he wouldnt replace either. He would play as the furthest forward of a the midfield 3. (We will have a 33 year old Moutinho as first choice next year so it would be a good idea to get another high quality option as MGW is a long way off being ready)

Last time I saw him play I though it was as a forward for RM.

Well certainly we need a more 'hardened' player as an AM, whether JR has the work ethic for our 'team situation' is something that would still need consideration even if we were able to miraculously get hold of him.

He isn't generally woeful though, he's generally a world class player.

I've always seen him as a CAM, but yea, I can agree finding someone who will work as hard as Moutinho is a daunting prospect.

He does have a work ethic. He gets goals and assists regularly. His best position is as a number 10, but he played regularly as a central midfielder last season for Bayern. He is class. It has only gone a bit sour this season for him at Bayern cos he had a fall out with the manager and an injury.
He would walk right into our side, in any number of positions or formations.

The only reason he isn't seen as doing as well as he should be is because he's a number 10.

No one plays with a number 10 really anymore, players like James and Mata who are specialised for that role have been either forced to play deeper or out wide in recent years (Mata at utd being the prime example)

The thing is though we play with a genuine number 10 now. If it would be possible for us to even have a chance of getting him, giving him regular game time in his natural position and he would be one of the best players in the premier League in my eyes.

Not the kind of player Fosun want to sign ….on huge wages and at the luxury end of the football universe and wouldn't dream of joining a team that couldn't offer Champion's League.

We do need a No.10, an Eriksen type, but a player who is on the up, in his early to mid twenties, and making his way to the top and who would see Wolves as the ideal stopping off place at this time in his career. That counts out someone like Felix who at 19 is being ridiculously touted as a £100m player and will only go to a top six European club I would have thought willing to take a massive risk on him.
Pity someone like Aaron Mooy is a bit too old as he could do a good job for us. Not world class but a very good player imv. James Maddison has been shown to be a very astute signing by Leicester and the next JM ,home or abroad ,should be who we are looking for. Talisca at 24 might do the job if he can be extracted form China's billionaire Mickey Mouse league. Then there is Loftus-Cheek who will surely want to find pastures new in the summer but is probably rather London-centric.

I actually thought he worked hard in the games against Liverpool, not much from him attacking wise but he put himself about more than I've seen him before. Tracked back well and put in a few crunching tackles too which I didn't think was his game. I'm sure I watch completely different games to others at times.

Ondrej Duda might not be a bad shout. Only plays for Hertha Berlin so not exactly a European super power. He's young so would retain value too.
