I feel sorry for them. In dire straits, heading for 3rd tier football.
Always seem to lose to their rivals Norwich.

    Reminds me of us pre-Fosun.

Good luck to the Tractor Boys. I hope their fortunes change.

    I don’t,

They’ve worked of pennies for years and always sold best players

McCarthy overachieved got them playoffs and ever since midtable and Ipswich fans hounded him out

Bloke was working miracle after miracle and fans now getting what they deserve far as I see it

Have a slight soft spot for Ipswich as my folks live around there, but see no hope for the club. Gut says they haven't stopped falling yet, can see them in the fourth division inside a few years.

This is why it is hard to feel sorry for them. Fans have every right to want more from their club, and maybe he outstayed his welcome, but what he did with limited resources was incredible, and he got booed.

If Ruddy did leave in the Summer, Bialkowski would be a good option as low-cost cover for Rui.

Do we really feel sorry for a club who hounded out a manager who was keeping them at a level which was above and beyond their real level?
They were horrible to Mick and everyone (apart from their fans) knew what to expect when he went.

    They're reaping what they've sewn.

Bigger clubs than Ipswich have been in this position in recent history, it's hardly a shock these days. On the flip side, Luton look destined to get back to the 2nd tier after going all the way down to the Conference. Football is a cyclical beast, hopefully the Vile will be swallowed up soon enough.

Accidentally left my blue cagoule on the terraces at Portman Road back in 1989/90 season, when I first went there on Muriel's Coaches - went back next season but it had gone - thieving load of ***** so no sympathy from me - not that I hold a grudge like :D

McCarthy has a shelf life, just as he did here. Speak to actual Ipswich fans and his time there mirrors here.

Lets look at their derby today...

An Norwich defeat helps the **** in their promotion race.

Any takers for an away win?

The trouble they have is an owner who appointed, and invested, Roy Keane.
He saw what happened then basically said **** it!

It’s funny how we are influenced by people we know who support the teams in question
    Example of which is Shrewsbury
I did quite like them being from Bridgnorth, I worked with a lad who supported them and I didn’t like him at all, and my sympathy for Town went with my dislike for him. And still remains.
Equally there’s an Ipswich fan at work who is ok, so I sympathise with his teams plight.

As I am old git and can go back to the seventies and eighties Ipswich were a superb footballing side under Sir Bobby Robson. What a midfield they had in Arnold Muhren, Franz Thijssen and John Wark. Mick Mills and George Burley at full backs with Terry Butcher and Russell Osman at centre half and Kevin Beattie just in front of the defence. With Paul Mariner and Alan Brazil up front. They also had a goalkeeper in Paul Cooper who was tremendous at saving pens ( I seem to remember the swine saving a John Richards penalty once ! )

Other sides who were massive in the seventies and eighties have gone down to the third tier and it looks nailed on the the Tractor Boys are going to be a ploughing a furrow in that Division !

Relegation looms and it’s fully deserved on Evans for not spending and the clowns who hounded Mick out of a job when it was patently obvious Mick was over achieving.

I remember Jason Dozzell scoring for them against us at Molineux. I decided to dislike them there and then.

The same applies for all other clubs that have ever scored a goal against us.

Great man manager, but being the non league team playing third round FA Cup games every week isn’t sustainable in the Premier League.

Up until the mess that followed, I still say on a technical level that that team in the PL between 2009-12 was the worst group of players I’d seen playing for Wolves. Professional footballers that couldn’t pass a ball over 10 yards, only for the happy clappers on here to adamantly refute that they didn’t need to, it wasn’t their job to. No wonder we dropped off a cliff.

Think I was at that one- didn’t we win 2-1? Think it was our first season back in Division 2 (as it was called then) and we went up to about 4th place.

The clubs that McCarthy manages have no plan, he never could develop a lasting legacy.
