Asked this on the "off topic" tired but presume its not as lively as this. Does anyone play football index, I've built up a little portfolio of young potential stars and wondered of anyone has shares in any up and coming players I don't know about?

    Got shares in

    MGW
    Neves
    Harry Maguire
    Andre Silva
    James Madison
    And some random Porto Player.

Put £100 in total. Shares only seem to rise when players move to a bigger club so not expecting any return in the near future

    Bored of it already tbf

you just need good young players who actually have a chance of playing football.. it's why Morgan Gibbs-white has done so well on there. Mason Greenwood is highly tipped, but probably already overpriced and no loan deal due.

Thanks both. I've put £40 in initially. Got shares in Morgan Gibbs white, doc, joao Felix, albin Lafont and bentancur. Not expecting instant returns as they are promising for the future. I think it will be quite good watching the values grow. Hopefully i dont get bored!

It's gone all over the place since they introduced the dividends for goals and assists, I had a decent portfolio set up for Media and Performance Buzz wins and the value of my players is now up and down like a yo-yo. Most of the best young players are now ridiculously over priced, I wish I had gotten on it earlier cos I knew about Sancho and Hudson-Odoi way before the media picked up on them but now they cost more than established stars

I just bought Kane and Mbappe. They bring in a little in dividends now and again. Got about £35 from £25. Not gonna get rich but it's nice to have a look every couple of weeks. I suppose if I had put £25k into it I would have £35k now, but if you have that kind of money to throw at a gamble then a £10k return is nothing I suppose.

Got a fair bit of money in it, market is booming at the minute.

If anyone wants any advice etc I can help, wouldn't really bother with anything less than £100 initially and then commit to putting some in each month to get good returns.

If anyone wants a free £10 then they can PM me for my referall link

Market has been all over the shop past few weeks, booming!

If it were a proper exchange, where you could actually buy shares in little known, undervalued footballers, it would be OK. It's actually a gambling game that can be manipulated accordingly to ensure no one really 'wins' in the long-term.

As it is, they have all the downsides of a real exchange (spreads on buying and selling), with very little of the upsides (not all stocks/players available, returns based on opinion etc.).

Dividends are earned on goals, assists, clean sheets. Also earned on opta performance stats. Also earned on media buzz which is taken from 35 independent media outlets.

CFD and FX trading is all based off opinion, same with Crypto currency.

Spreads on buying and selling are there to protect against short term market manipulation.

They are, but any small profits you make on players are generally wiped out by the spreads and also by significant decreases in value for other players that can't really be explained by stats.

I'm also wary when the small-print says stuff like, "The Football Index Scoring Matrix is subject to change from time to time. If we need to make any material changes to the Football Index Scoring Matrix we will keep you informed either by email, via the Website and/or on the App."

Basically, they make the rules and they can change them!

The only time I made any decent profit was when Wolves were promoted and Neves' and Jota's values increased significantly. That was the time for me to cash out.

They are. With nothing underpinning them. Therefore, never invest any money in these that you can't afford to lose completely.

I would say to anyone looking at this that this is a good bit of fun, but be aware that this is a game, not an investment and is therefore not covered by any of the regulations that cover investments. So therefore anything you put into it is at risk!

I appreciate that, but they are not a fixed amount or percentage (eg. 5%), they are manipulated to ensure the house wins (or doesn't lose too often)! Take Higuain for example today. He has a 12% spread on buying and selling! So even if I'd held Higuain shares for years, I would be losing 12% of my profit on my sale.

I’ve got a 95% share of Jamie O’Hara, Roger Johnson and James Saville.

Willing to do a straight swop for a 1973 1600cc Cortina in reasonable condition.

I would guess at a mix between interest on deposits made to their platform and profits on player sales.

Have taken my first plunge into this having read up quite a bit on it and also seen this thread. Have spread my resources fairly wide to start with (just 2/3/4 shares in one player while I get the hang of it). Had Jonny as my token Wolves pick as he's fairly underappreciated and being as he's on loan I suspect there might be a bit of media speculation around him as time goes on

They are doing a share split soon so buy 1 Pogba at £10 it could be 2 at £5 or 4 at £2.50 soon, and these prices will rise over time so you could make a bit over the coming months

The price of the players is getting too high so they will split the shares, so like I said if you own 1 share in Pogba at £10 and they decide to split it in half you will have 2 shares at £5, this will encourage more people to buy shares in players and so you make some money as his value rises again

I put £10 in a year ago, i now have £7.36. It was only for un making a few pence now and again.
Biggest earner i have was Neves from £1.30 to £3 and then VVD who has doubled, but also invested in a few duds.

TBH, not a great way of making money but a little fun for small stake.

Ah I see. So I have Kane and Mbappe both around the £10 value so in theory should make some decent profit on them two.

It's always wise to diversify with some youngsters and some proven players, some transfer speculation players and some short term investments etc.
