No, not me in bed with the missus, it's the latest Wolves videos:

Jimenez's skill for that shot is amazing.

Neves harrying for the Costa goal also amazing.

Also, look at Spurs when Boly equalises, 11 heads drop. They can't even be arsed to get the ball out the net. Fragile.

    UTW!

If I had to describe our counter-attacks in one word, that word would be:

    "Swashbuckling" .

In the build up to the Costa goal, Neves looks back to his old self, making the time he needs to execute the right pass.

    Yes.

Note Kane who said something like 'should be winning games like this' going towards the ball after the goal only to then leave it and stroll off!!
    :(

I've been very critical of Neves this season, but looks to have had a really good game.

Great weight on the pass from Doc for Costa’s goal. Great finish.

    There's something special in each goal;
Moutinho's little jig before the corner, the perfect out swinger, and Boly's towering, just towering leap. I know he's big but that was insane.
The superb passes leading to Raul's goal. Costa quick to Moutinho, the wonderful pass to Cav, Cav's control, turn and side foot to Raul and Raul's disguised shot though the legs.
Then you have Neves intercepting a loose ball, looking up and finding Doherty with a wonderful pass. Doc releasing Costa who timed his run to perfection, and the lovely left foot into the left corner.

It’s when Jimenez scores & in the managerial huddle Nuno grabs MGW face clearly Gee’ing him up to come on & keep that lead.

For me, the Costa goal speaks volumes about Doc. He headed the ball clear in the first instance, then took a defensive position on the 18 yard line in readiness for their next attack. He was first to react when Neves picked up the loose ball, picking up Neves pass on the halfway line. He even had time to glance back to see if Son had bothered to track his run, which to me looked like Son didn't have the energy for. Then finishes off with a perfectly weighted, perfectly timed pass to put Costa in. All this in the dying minutes of a game when it would be far easier to sit back and try to hold on to the 2-1 and this from a player who hasn't missed a minute of play all season.

Raul is just getting better all the time, and what a blocking move by Jota, NFL style.

Diogo's improvisation on the fly of keeping Milner away from his striker is world class. I'm not sure I remember seeing someone do that before, actually.

The second goal against Spurs is hilarious. Ben Davies does Costa's job for him early by playing a delightful lobbed pass to Moutinho :D:D:D

I've been thinking for a while how Jimenez plays is reminiscent of John Richards. Not quite as prolific as the second highest goalscorer we have seen at Molineux but when I look at the two goals posted here again I can see JR's skills at taking goals calmly and the one against Liverpool more poacher than spectacular. As was the first of these two. Although there are many differences in the type of set up now, the old counter attack in particular is a reminder of how the Dougan/Richards/Wagstaffe/Hibbitt/McCalliog/Bailey speed -and at times accuracy- of the long ball made so many games back then memorable, and on nothing like the playing surfaces we have today. Jimenez also hold up play and links up so well at times, just as JR could do.

Before any 'What about Steven George' posts he was a different type of goalscorer. He was all about strength and determination, coupled with an uncanny sense of what he should do which we are unlikely to see again at Molineux. He was a one-off and all the better for it.

I like the fact that our defensive midfielder, Dendonker, plays a significant role so far up the pitch. Brilliant goal by Neves and the team build up, but I'd love to see the outcome of the alternative universe version, where instead of shooting, Neves threads the ball through to Leander, who lashes it into the far top corner! He's now a hero and settled into the pack.
