Where is decent to drink around Lime Street?
Yeah got my dates muddled. Edited it on another thread, forgot I did it on here too
I suppose if we get to the Quarters it'll be moved too but not looking that far ahead haha.
Matthews Street isn’t far (probably 10 min walk max), has some decent boozers I.e Flanagan’s, the White Star, The Grape, The Welkin (Wetherspoons).
Just a little up from Matthew Street there are some great pubs situated around Moorfields Station, The Thomas Rigby, Railway, Ye Hole In Ye Wall, Lady of Mann, The Lion.
There is also a Spoons next door to Lime Street called The North Western.
If you book in advance on specific trains can get for as cheap as £9.50 each way. Otherwise it’s about £35 standard return.
But if there’s a group of 3 or 4 of you you can get a group save return (doesn’t have to be specific trains and can buy on the day the group has to travel together) it’s 3 or 4 for the price of 2.
Virgin don’t run between Wolvo and Liverpool unless you change at Stafford. Direct London Northwestern best bet
Hi Josh, come in via Moorfields is it worth meeting up near there?
I know. Crewe is possibly a better change.
Out of interest, has anybody had their loyalty points applied from last nights game yet?
1529 tickets left on sale to silver from tomorrow so say they all buy theres that just over a 1000 left before they go on sale sat
Seems like the Gold AST's are turning up?
I thought they were picking and choosing games?
how many gold aways is it 1300 if so that gives a total of 2829 thats 163 tickets to players etc id say
Yes could be an option Nick, I’ll Pm you about it.
They are. They are choosing this. 3pm Sat game ay it
Ticket sales will go past Silver so still proves ASTs are pointless
Makes no difference you end up on the same train.
If going from Wolverhampton you’re best just sticking to the direct London northwestern one. Two an hour.
See you Shrewsbury!
Course they are.
Apart from the fact that I have no AST or enough points to buy a ticket, I'm happy to give this game a miss. Not my favourite place to visit - wonderful place & fans (LOL) - They might come out to 'Z Cars' but they could do with a few more police around that ****hole of a stadium
How much you wanna go Bournemouth or Shrewsbury?
I'm a completist so missing either will annoy me.
I know what you mean. I have been to more away games than a couple of me mates with ASTs but I thought and always have thought paying for the points advantage was the club ripping us off, never needed one before.
Hoping Bournemouth aint a 3pm kick off.
Lets take a game at a time, lets stay homble.
Is homble a cross between humble and horrible??? Or just a (possibly deliberate given the emoji) typo??
Had to ask as l can't damn well sleep (back at work this week after 4.5 months off for medical issues and it's damn stressful) and l'm bored...
Its a Nunoism. A new type of philosophy.
Its already confirmed for 3pm
It is a small sum to pay to ensure I get a ticket.......looking forward to Bournemouth
Another away game... another debate about the worth of an AST.
Am I the only one looking forward to this game?
Train tickets booked weeks ago at a bargain price
Pub route sorted
Good man, I thought it was just me looking forward to it
Just got my ticket and train arranged, arriving 11 and looking forward to a good day out, may even make the game.
£70 for the privilege of getting a Bournemouth away ticket.
That’s £100+ in total once matchday ticket accounted for
Other than that game I’ve managed to get a ticket for every single match.
I disagree with paying that much for 90 minutes of football
Definetly, just have to wait until I get the confirmation email Saturday. I know I should get one but still get anxious that I might miss out.
Yeah can't help with agree you. I guess its what your preference is as a supporter and what's important to you. If I'm not there it'll be a put my feet up radio job. I can see how it would take the stress out for some mind.
Just let everyone getting up early do the hard work
Anyway that's another matter for another thread.
The point is , there is absolutely no need for the ast scheme and fans to waste £70
It could easily be staggered further by loyalty , which would essentially give those that go every away game first priority without paying £70
I can't wait.
I love Everton away.
Great city to drink in, fans are generally very friendly and Goodison is a time capsule.
Sure my Gold was £50 this season.
Being able to book train tickets weeks and weeks in advance knowing I can definitely get a ticket means the savings made pretty much cover the £50 in a couple of months.
£50 then . Think some were £70 later on. Same point
If you went every game and they staggered points you would have comfort that you could get a ticket ..... and save £50/£70
I pay £50
I saved more than that by booking hotels in august for liverpool away knowing i was guaranteed a ticket. Not to mention the hundreds of pounds i save each season with being able to book trains earlier.
I haven't missed a game again yet. It works well for us
Another who misses the point entirely
I do go to every game. Knowing I can get a ticket for every single game means I can plan my travel weeks and weeks in advance, like getting train tickets for £10.50 return on Virgin for Spurs.
I get what you're saying. We get absolutely nothing for the £50, just priority.
They don't even give us an AST card these days.
If people are willing to pay the £50, which we are, then the club will carry on.
And that’s the problem .
Ashame there doesn’t to be any common sense from discussions in ticketing at wolves or in fans parliament
Personally I haven't got a problem with it.
Very few complaints from AST's.
