Because we’re just missing a forward who can’t hit a cows **** with a banjo.
On his insta that he’s training at Compton
Finished in Scotland is he, as many expected?
He doesn’t deserve to be a footballer. Sell him on for whatever profit we can get in Jan.
I've always been a big supporter of Bright and thought there is a real player in there somewhere given his natural talent and physicality for his age.
But I think I'm done with him now. If you can't get in a Scottish Premier League side, regardless of who they are, you're unlikely to make a Championship team, let alone a Premier League one.
Now I know players all develop at different ages, but Gibbs-White is 2 years younger, Vinagre is 11 months younger and Jota and Neves are only 18 months and 14 months older respectively. That is the standard of our young players now, all far ahead in terms of maturity of where Bright needs to be.
I think his contract is up in the summer, but we might have a 1 year option. So we either sell him in January, extend his contract and try and move him on in the summer or let him leave for nothing.
We should probably try to sell him and include either a sell-on clause or a buy back option, just in case he does manage to get his head together at some point in the next few years.
Wonder if Lambert is looking to take him to Ipswich in January
That would finish him off for sure.
Not sure he will be too fussy in January.
This for me too
Time to show him the door I'm afraid, had more than enough chances to straighten himself out.
He needs to take his career more seriously. Seems like a good kid, but also seems very immature. If he wants to have a good career he needs to realise Wolves aren't going to be there to keep holding his hand.
He's blown this chance. Like I've said previously, he started pretty well at Kilmarnock before getting an injury, and they're TOP of the SPL. Could have been a great experience for him that he would have played a big part of.
I've no doubt he has the talent to make it at the highest level but the exit door is looming large and if he gets another chance here it must surely be his last.
*This is all assuming his loan is done and they've sent him back. He was injured as recently as a couple of weeks ago and it's not unknown for players to go back to parent clubs while they recover, especially when in this case (no disrespect to Kilmarnock), our facilities will be better for the player
Got a hell of a lot of natural talent IMO.
Needs to get his dopey head out of his ****....the sooner the better if he wants a good career.
Don't believe the loan is done. Simply a case as has been said earlier of the player lacking discipline with his attitude.
If it was any different the club would have been all too keen to put the actual issue out publicly.
Stealing a living
Hope someone takes him, but surely its his last chance saloon.
Players who spunk their careers must look back later in life and think, what if.
He really isn’t that good. Absolutely brainless and done less in the first team than Jordan Graham and Conor Ronan. Called it ages ago, he’ll be a league 1 player if he’s lucky. Complete waste of time and he’s got about as much chance of getting into the Wolves team as I have.
Favourite post of all time was when someone based in Honk Kong said “I’m certain he’s going to become world class.” Nearly fell off my chair.
Too much money at such a young age - before they’ve actually achieved anything - will make or break a player. When the money takes over, they just loose their hunger and desire to improve. The lower leagues are full of such players.
Take MGW for instance, you can just tell he is only interested in playing football: for players like him the financial rewards are the by-product not the motivation.
A colleague at work, her nephew is Jadon Sancho. They are very close and I’ve followed his rapid development for about 6 years. His move to Germany from City was instigated by him and motivated by sheer ambition and desire to improve as a footballer. The lad just wants to be the best footballer he can be - and he knows the rewards will follow his success.
Bright had a terrible upbringing by all accounts. Mentally very fragile which is a shame but maybe a bit more understandable. I enjoy watching his ability though, I hope he can come through this difficult period because he’s outrageously talented. Whether it will ever quite click who knows.
Hasn't exactly worked out with the contract extensions previously. Isn't EEL still on the books? We've probably paid out far more in wages by now than we would have got for any transfer for him.
If a player isn't good enough, we should just let them go instead of giving them contract extensions. You risk getting nothing, but you also don't get stuck with an unwanted player. If they're any good, other teams would be after them.
Disagree re Bright - with someone still quite young with such raw talent I think we need to give him a break and get him some proper mentoring or management or whatever he needs to try and sort his head out
Would be worth getting him involved in charity work, working with the homeless and that, maybe it would click with him that he’s very very fortunate to be a footballer and he might stop chucking away his career. He’s very talented but for me that’s irrelevant if the attitude ain’t right.
The amount of money the club spent giving his dad "sweetners" to get him back on his many times going awol is sickening.
He was at Albion, they kicked him out. This is from the u12s coach who was there at the time.
Worst attitude of anyone he'd seen in 35 years in the game.
Regardless of how tough he had it growing up, the bloke is an absolute idiot.
Blown his chance time and time again, beat to just cut our losses and get rid
Does anyone actually know if he’s done anything wrong at Kilmarnock ? He could just be injured.
Fixed it for you.
It's a sad indictment of our youth set-up that very few make it to the first team. Can't think of many over the last few years that have regularly held down a first team place. Possibly Hennessey the exception!
We had high hopes for the likes of Ronan, Ismail, Price, Eno etc... but they generally fell by the wayside. L1 at best. Only MGW seems to be making the step-up.
Makes one wonder if it's worth developing our own players at all, really.
Price made over 100 apps. Iorfa another in the high hopes camp. Hause is still involved.
Most won't make it, that's football.. there's hundreds of young footballers who graduate every year, there's only room for a handful of them. We have many players who have gone on to have professional careers the last 20 years. It only takes one MGW for it to be worthwhile funding wise.
I disagree our youth system is fantastic and players have had chances. I mean the list of those who had chances and havent made it is massive and Bright is one of those.
He had more chances than most and offered nothing
In years to come I could see Bright being a useful footballer. The issue is he needs games and a club that can support him. The kids in the first team are exceptional, especially when you look at the age of other clubs. Bright is at other end of the scale. I doubt he is on millions and if the club extend he will have my support; if they do not I wish him good fortune to find somewhere he can develop. I just do not get this nastiness. Youth football is a relentless numbers game; you do not get to twenty in it at a championship club without being pretty could. The issue for Bright and the likes of Iorfa and Hause is how far Wolves have come in such a short time.
Yeah, forgot Ikeme. Disagree about Batth as we've ended up shipping him out. Thought we brought Doherty from Ireland.
Trouble is with Eno, or anyone else we move on, is that they have to feel wanted and feel well placed at another club. If he was to be sold/loaned/freed to ****ty Walsall for instance, his career would nose dive.... if he went to somewhere like Norwich/Leeds/Forest he is more likely to flourish. I would gladly see him serve another club brilliantly than languish in our reserves. Sad really, I thought he would be really good for us
If he'd have scored some goals in the first place that might have helped
Shipping him out after playing 200+ games, most as Captain. Had Carl not fallen ill I think he'd have been understudy to Ruddy and left this season with Rui's arrival too.
Doherty was 17 when he signed and counts as homegrown.
The academy produced players for where we've been for the past five to six years, League One and Championship standard players with one or two with potential for higher like MGW, BAS etc
Danny Baath? Not good enough for the Prem but we will get a decent fee.
Keems, Matt Murray (if he hadn't been made of polystyrene), Doc...
Not too shabby when you think that we were an indifferent Chump side for most of the last 30 years
He should take a look at Gibbs White and his great attitude. Bright could be a brilliant player but it could easily all go to waste. A real shame.
Not being funny but if you can’t make impact with all those players around you and ****ing league like last season you ain’t ever
Said same about the last hot prospect in liam mac in L1
Had more than enough chances, stealing living at present and on handy wages
Only hope for him is reality check at a Walsall when cut and makes way back.
Can’t see it at any decent level
We have more failure than hits and it is inevitable the higher up the tree you go, the harder it is to make an impact....
Zeli, Graham,Mcalinden etc...and we maybe up adding Bright to this list with Ronan, Wilson, Hause, Iorfa......
Who knows who will make the step up from Ennis, Ashley seal, Giles etc.
Hopefully MGW will, but hard to tell who will join him. So many changes physically name psychologically from 17 to 22. Physical ability is only a part of it, and in some respects probably not the most important part.
He is injured. It's always more exciting to be outraged over second-hand information instead of finding a logical explanation though, apparently.
Does anyone know why he is training at Compton. As Jamwolf suggests it may simply be related to his injury. The most appalling thread I ever have seen. Someone posts something they heard, no evidence, no statement from either club and suddenly a whole series of posters want us to get rid of the lad. What a collection of prats.
