Horrendous and deliberate. Should be some retrospective action

That Jack Clarke's some player though! Gerrim in Jeff!

Bordered on assault to be honest.

That aside though Leeds look good, nowhere near our level last year, but more of the level we were in the 08/09.

    They’ll win the league.

Yes. It wasn’t seen, and dealt with on the pitch - so retrospective action can be taken. Ban awaits.

The referee chooses “not to see” something that happens right in front of him in clear sight:rolleyes:........bit reminiscent of Costa getting kicked in the face in the penalty area in the Villa match at home last season, also in clear view of the referee........nothing given.
The referee bottled it in both cases. Poor weak refereeing IMO.
But, as we found, normal standard of officials for Chumpionship....:(

I guess in a way it's good that the ref didn't punish it. It means he will probably get a big ban respectively.

Thought the ref was a bit of a homer to be honest. Right at the end the Derby player got pushed, ref gives nothing to the Derby player then goes in heavy and gets booked.

The decision to ignore the foot up from the keeper always looks worse on the replay but it happens in real time and is over in the blink of an eye.

Don't know why Leeds felt the need to spy on Derby because Derby were abysmal. It was a typical Championship game with the ball up in the air a great deal. Leeds showed some good qualities with some decent young players and had some good moves but were very fortunate with the second goal. If Leeds are the best the Championship have this season, then it shows just how good we were last season. Neither team were that impressive but it shocked me how poor Derby were after going 2-0 down. No fight, no resilience and no idea how to get at Leeds despite the ref.

Genuine question, are Derby any better this year than they were under Rowett last season? They were as poor tonight as they were at Molineux when Neves scored THAT goal.

Not necessarily better- but play more expansive, attractive football than under Rowett. You were always going to get a major jizzfest by the media when Lampard took over, whatever happened.

I thought Derby were better at their place against us than they were either tonight or at Mol. I don't see any improvement under Lampard but I never really expected to. I've nothing against him as he was a good pro but his credentials for a manager's job in the Championship were always in question.

I see nothing in Derby's style of play that suggests they are anything but yet another bang average team. They'll probably hover around the play off mark but it would be no surprise if they didn't make it.

Surely if he claims he saw that and did nowt he is out on his **** for a minimum of a round of games. Being cynical he will know that before he files his match report so likely he will say he didn't see it allowing a retrospective ban. There is no way he can get away with that it was an horrendous challenge.

He can hide behind saying he thought the challenge was accidental thoughTV evidence shows otherwise.

Surely if you're the ref you just turn round and go, oh yeah I never saw it. If he admits he saw it but didn't think it was a foul then they'll get rid of him on the spot probably. He's probably already seen a replay and thought, fml how did I not see that! It's one of the nastiest things I've seen in ages. Hope the keeper gets a long ban for it.

So if he says he saw it but thought it was accidental even if TV replays now prove otherwise can no action be taken? That challenge can't go unpunished. If he says he saw that but thought it was accidental I think the refs association should be readying his P45.

Agree, I mean if the ref didn't see it fair enough, but if he did see it and didn't think it was a foul then he shouldn't be a ref. Fair enough it happened quickly but even on the full speed replays you see him look at the player and stretch out his boot and smash it into his face. The Derby player nearest to it had the best view and he was going mad.

They will ask him him if he saw it and if he says Yes that will be it regarding retrospective action.
What would then happen is the clip will be shown at Referees camp where he will be asked to explain his action/non action and all the other Referees will discuss it and be honest. He will get a rollicking either way.

Kicking a player in the face on purpose is cowardly and unacceptable. I don't usually get irate about stuff but this needs to be looked at.
So glad the Derby kid was not seriously hurt.

Thanks for explaining that. Seems a bit wrong to me the worst challenge which included clear intent I have seen this season may not get any action taken other than the ref getting a rollicking. We wait and see and hope he didn't see it so the keeper can get quite rightly banned. I hear the argument if the ref saw it then his opinion on the pitch stands but in clear errors of this nature the authorities ought to be able to take action. Can you clear up had VAR been in play would he have been advised to look at it again and take action by the TV ref? If so I suppose it means things like this may happen less as the years go by and VAR becomes commonplace in our game.

The award for best comedy statement of the year for 2019 ( and after this even though it is only January 12th we may already have the year's winner ! ) goes to Leeds United for this gem.

We shall remind Mr Bielsa of the integrity and honesty on which Leeds are built

Good job I have Dulux wipe clean kitchen paint as my white wall has a huge coffee stain on it from where I spat a mouthful of the liquid out when I read the above. Leeds United and the words integrity and honesty have as much credibility in the same sentence as someone saying " President Trump can you let me know who your Barber is as I want a haircut like you have ! "

I remember the 1972 alleged attempts to bribe Wolves, the mocking of Southampton when they were sat on the ball and other tricks in that performance, the over the ball challenges and off the ball incidents of the Revie era and in recent times the Wolves are cheating allegations of last season.

They are self righteous, sanctimonious pond scum and it is why I truly hope they fail to get promoted and that statement they issued shows them up for the hypocrites they clearly are.
