Thank God the PA announcer was better today.
I thought that she was absolutely awful. The bloke doing the goal and substitute announcements was incomprehensible.
The guy I heard before the gates opened when I was pitch-side by the players' tunnel was fine. They were testing and the volume was just right, clear as crystal. They then ramped it up and it wasn't as good. It seems to me that it's more about the level of volume than the quality of the system. As for whoever was doing it at half time I'll have to wait until the Bournemouth fixture as I was involved with something else.
You didn’t register this account until over six months after turner was banned.
I couldn't hear a word she was saying. I most probably didn't miss a lot.
I think it's conclusive that Shouty Man shouted.
That is true. I did try registering before (and can prove it to you if you want). I've also been reading posts for years (l can read but not post during breaks when at work).
I think it is conclusive that you have shown enough disrespect on this thread to last a lifetime
OK. So we're now not to express an opinion which conflicts with yours on an open forum. How fascist is that when you complain about how the mods have treated you. Take a good look in the mirror.
All I've said is that the man got on my nerves because he was far too loud...and others agree. I also said that he obviously didn't care about being loud and having heard how clear and comfortable the volume of sound was yesterday before the crowd was admitted (if he cared then he would have done something about it) I find that comment perfectly reasonable. It's you and others who span off at a tangent about the good work he does for the club and the community and fair play to him for that as I've said above. I wish him no harm and good luck to him. You call that disrespect? Look the word up in the dictionary.
If you can't take it don't read my posts.
As if on cue......the disrespectful ****er posts again
From shouty man...to mumbly man
Had it occurred to you that the PA is so **** that something which appears to be a reasonable volume in one part of a particular stand may appear to be either too loud or muffled in other parts of that stand let alone in other stands. This is a guy who worked for the Club for 25 years and, those in the know say, did a whole lot more unpaid. Is it really that hard to say thank you, goodbye and good luck without a load of unsubstantiated assertions about lack of caring and (implicitly) lack of professionalism. Doubtless we will end up with a bland boring corporate clone instead and another part of our distinctiveness will be gone...
Mate, I've said good luck to him and that I recognise his other inputs. What more is there to say?
Ok, that is a reasonable response (albeit it ducks the criticism you also made). I'm out of here..
Well said, the man is a Wolves fan, gave up every Saturday to do this free of charge, had to contend with lots of issues and a crap PA system
May I add that yours was a measured post so thanks for that. We all have differences of opinion. Some can dicuss rationally and others can't. As for those who become abusive they know they've lost the plot and lost the argument.
I suppose the only positive about people getting heated (and I have my moments too - I suspect that we all do) is at least it shows that they care...
True...but it's what they care about which matters.
There is no doubt about it, the P.A. system at present is far from working perfectly, and this is without question, half the problem with not being able to hear anyone clearly, and not just Jason.
In any huge stadium it is extremely difficult to get this sound balance absolutely right. Jason to his credit, spent many hours, and in his own time, testing and re testing all of the various sound levels and balances, in an effort to get it as close to perfect as possible.
He showed me around his control room at the back of the South Bank a few times and explained the many difficulties he faced. Not least the fact that any sound or speech takes two seconds to travel from one side of the ground to the other. This explains how it’s nigh on impossible to get any coordinated chanting going from all sides of the ground. Each side hears what the other side have sung two seconds afterwards.
Add this to a fact that folk seem to have forgotten. The ground is less than half finished being re-built. The state of the art sound system that’s in place now, is no doubt built and designed to work perfectly in a totally enclosed finished stadium.
Jason in my opinion coped extremely well, given the problems and restraints he was under. Facts that are not really understood by some fans.
Jason Forest is a Wolves fan, giving up 25 years week after week to do this for free, thank you Jason.
He had to cope with numerous difficulties
There was not one MolMixer yesterday that did not have a good word for him
It was all part of the matchday experience. Used to judge how quick i needed to walk through the subway to make kick off depending on his noise level.
Passionate wolves fan, i will miss his his contribution
Hear hear thanks Jason for your comittment
Do we know why he left so suddenly and part way through the season?
It’s like any relationship breakdown, it’s “complicated”.
I was told yesterday at the ground that it was because of something which he is alleged to have said which didn't go down well with some at the club.
That would fit in with what I was told.
Thank you for that, mate.
Is the situation beyond repair? I mean, yesterday was a disorganised shambles and I'm not just talking about what happened on the pitch.
Did he say the alleged thing over the tannoy?
As I said it’s complicated. All I’ll say is that it was his decision to leave and the decision wasn’t taken lightly.
Best to leave it at that, I’m still in touch with him and he’s not happy but he’ll survive.
It still sounded like him doing the substitution announcements, albeit on a worse microphone than usual.
Was the team lineup pre recorded? I was outside the ground so couldn’t hear it clearly but again it sounded like him still.
Send him our best wishes
This in Edge's spades, speculation on "what I heard at the game" to support unwarranted criticism of a guy who is a true fan and given 25 years of unpaid and splendid service is disrespectful at best and **** at worse. Plenty of opportunities to express an opinion and then leave it, but No apparently, need to labour on unnecessarily.
Well said Nick
I believe it's because @ShropshireLad said Jason got on his nerves. The poor bloke just couldn't carry on after that.
Surely no better reason to continue?
Somebody found his copy of Staus Quo , Rocking all over the world and smashed it
I heard he was talking on his mobile about dinner and someone overheard him say, “I could murder a Chinese.”
And after that it was, “run Forrest run!”
