Wolves 0 - Chelsea 2 Wolves concede early but then dominate the majority of the game but then Chelsea deliver the killer punch with a late goal from a counter attack. Patricio. Bennett, Coady, Boly. Doherty, Saiss, Moutinho, Vinagre. Traore, Jota, Cav.
The way I feel right now, I don’t even feel like watching this one let alone predict. I don’t want or have a smart phone so last year I just waited tillI got home to get the results. Less stress. However, not working this week, so will be home with 2 iPads,tv and pc with very large monitor.... Be beaten is not great but not fighting, tooth and nail, is lousy to watch. A draw would be fantastic.
Wolves 2 Chelsea 1 - Hopefully will be a terrific entertaining game................... C'mon you Wolves!
I'm going for a 2-1 to the good guys as well. We do seem to up our game against the "football playing" teams and we are due a game when our players actually gel and manage to string a few passes together. Is it right that Ruben is suspended for this match? If so I fancy MGW to start
As a matter of interest, would we rather see a vastly improved performance like the Wolves of August but losing 1-2; or we play very poorly again but manage to sneek a 1-1 draw?
Not sure of score heart says we might sneak a draw, head says 3-1 Rent boys. However, if you go on their forum their fans not happy with their play at the moment...moaning about their midfield not competing, Morata can’t hit a cows backside with a banjo (til Weds night) so maybe their is hope. If we play like we all know we can we might get something....
Good question, a win would do the players confidence a lot of good, a good performance against a top 6 side is standard for us...we need to find a way to score 2 goals and win against the lesser teams. So I'll say sneak a draw (or lucky win bouncing off Bolys arm).
0-3. Completely outclassed and dominated, as we should be against Chelsea. We might have a chance if Pedro plays centre mid
We have a good go but 0-2 sadly with one goal in the 39th minute the other in the 84th. Hazard and Wiliian. We hit the bar and have a goal disallowed plus their goalie makes two great saves. Of course hope so much I am wrong and we battle out a 1-1 draw.
2-2. We generally play much better against the top teams. I have far more confidence that we will get something out of this game than against the likes of Bournemouth.
I feel better about this game than I did the Huddersfield and Cardiff games. We've got nothing to lose (other than the game obviously). Chelsea aren't going to come here to nullify us, Sarri is going to set Chelsea up in the same way he has all season and the same way he did at Napoli. I'm hoping that Saiss is moved into midfield to replace the suspended Neves and Bennett is back on the right of the centre backs. Hopefully Saiss being there will let Moutinho play a bit. He'll probably just swap Neves for Gibbs-White though. We'll either get an utter spanking from Hazard et Al or give them a real game. I'll say it'll be similar to the Spurs game, 3-2 to Chelsea.
Wolves 1-4 Chelsea Chelsea score and Wolves equalise all within the first 10 mins. Chelsea go 3-1 up before HT, 2nd half Wolves put the pressure on, can’t finish and Chelsea score a 4th late on
Chelsea host Man City on Saturday which will be their 3rd game in a little over 6 days. Hopefully they have one eye on that and we can take advantage. The more our poor run goes on, the more defiant I'm becoming about our chances in the next game. I guess I'm as stubborn as Nuno in my belief in Wolves ability. 3-0 to Wolves. And if we lose to Chelsea, I'll predict 4-0 against Newcastle!
Sarri said hazard won't play 3 games in a week which is why I think he'll be benched against us so he can start against city
Chelsea have certainly stuttered in recent weeks in terms of results and are facing similar problems to us at their level in that people reckon they've been found out, with sides stopping Jorginho. I kind of subscribe to that, but I don't see how we can stop him with a 3-4-3 formation. We don't press, and he will easily pick the balls up from the centre-back. The obvious solution is to get one of the wide forwards to do it but then they have a full-back that is ALWAYS the out ball and that can be tough for us, although leaving Azpilicueta as the spare man may be the way to go. Otherwise, Jimenez would have to do it and then we're struggling for a focal point. Basically, I don't see us stopping their midfield as we are not setup to do that. Even though we've stopped the big sides in the past, Chelsea are different. Man City's deepest midfielder is Fernandinho - he's a brilliant player but not the playmaker. Arsenal have Torreira and Xhaka and United have serious problems in midfield. Therefore, against those sides we can sit deep and suffocate the space in the final third because that's where Ozil/Silva/Mata's operate. However, with Chelsea it's Jorginho from deep so I have major concerns about how we're going to get the ball. Then, obviously, they have the better players. I expect a 0-2 or 0-3 because I can't see Nuno changing and I think that will be a mistake. 3-4-3 might be able to work but we'd have to be very brave and press a lot more than we do. Will be interesting.
Concede early and it will be a horrible night. Just hope we can stay in the game as long as possible. The longer it goes on the better the crowd will get and we might get something. If we win I will spontaneously combust.
From what I've seen this season, Chelsea look wide open, there was a stat a few weeks ago that showed they are one of the worst in the league for the amount of clear cut chances they concede per game and it's a minor miracle they haven't conceded significantly more. Of course we are one of the best in the league for the amount of clear cut chances we create but just can't take them. Hopefully this is a game where we actually take our chances, so I'm going to go for a classic, 3-2 to Wolves.
I wonder if he'll bring him on to try and salvage the game when they're 3-0 up or just give the game up and turn his attention to Man City? In all seriousness, Chelsea have good players, but are much less worrying proposition without Hazard.
I reckon football being a "funny old game" we will win this by the odd goal. Come on the old gold n black!
Predictions Hazard will be too good for us. Second best player in the League. We'll give it a good go but come up a bit short, Newcastle and Bournemouth are the big games.
