Complacency could see us in trouble.
To not strengthen would be just that.
Make the most of the transfer window,at least for those teams with a small squad.Or what it the point of it.?
Not saying I wouldn’t like a couple of players in mate but I’m not sweating if we don’t. Personally think, even with injuries, we’ll finish 11-8th.
There is 0 chance of us being relegated this season.
A good deal would be not spending 5m on a striker who doesn’t score but guess that was lost in the summer
What is wrong with the people on here if it wasn't for Bonatini we would have not been in the premier League , I know he has struggled this season and the step up is probably too much, but to get on his back all the time has not helped his confidence, we should support our players
So we just give him away now instead of trying to get what we can for him?
Where have you got from what I’ve said to suggest release him?
Given our current home form, lack of goals and tendency to be half asleep against other teams outside the top 6 I think we're more likely to finish 15th or 16th.
Just looked back and I don’t know.
Fair concerns. Next 3 games will tell us a lot. Playing 8th, 9th and 10th with 2 at home.
I wonder ..... it's often thought good looking women attract a fair bit of dislike from other women ..... could it be that some men are similarly jealous of handsome men?
There's an unnatural amount of negative comments on here that are not consistent with his contribution to the club's efforts when we started our historic climb back to the top tier.
Don't rush to tell me I'm hopelessly wrong, I've heard women do likewise when defending their unnatural dislikes of good looking women, and at the same time all too often claiming saintly 'Bercow-like' impartiality!!
Thanks for that I think this probably explains why so many men cant stand me.
He could look like Iain Dowie - won't change the fact he has not scored a league goal since 2017.
Maybe a case of finding a player willing to sit on the bench with Jimenez playing so well or an upgrade of Jimenez willing for sign for Wolves
I dont think anyone is getting on his back, just stating the obvious fact that he is not at the standard we need to improve our position going forwards
We had this with several of the old guard Edwards, Batth, Ronan, even Douglas ,although the circumstances were different
All good loyal servants but ultimately not good enough for where we are aiming
We will probably have the same debate over Costa, Cav ,Saiss ,Doc etc, in the the next few seasons,we cant stand still,as much as we like the players, if we have the ambition we need to drop the sentimentality ,we cant have both
Iain Dowie? You made the point for me, cheers!
I take your points, to a degree, but I don't necessarily agree that we shall be having the debate over Doc and strange as it may seem, I still have a feeling that Costa will come good, whilst Cav and Saiss are good for the bench for next season in my view, depending on the other players we might sign in the summer.
Exactly, he could have compared him to Victor Mature
I did say" probably" and "the next few seasons",not at all saying kick them all out now lol
We could still sign a player that could play with Jimenez and Jota if Nuno plays that formation. A signing would have a decent chance of getting good game time seeing as we have a small squad.
Apparently Leo Bonatini had a terrible debut for Nottingham Forest today. Martin O'Neill took him off at half time.
'He looks lost' The brutal assessment of this Wolves loanee
"Can't be easy coming to a huge club after Wolves." Cheeky ****.
I can’t actually think of many Managers whose style Leo’s game is less suited to.
They had a few good years under Cloughie... **** for pretty much the rest of their history...
Missed a very good chance.
MON has a style?
He played him as an attacking midfielder, you know a bit like Roberto Baggio except not quite as good.
O'Neill is mental.
Poor lad, has to put up with MON doc's best mate.
I take it Forest only had an option to buy, no obligation...
MON is an ego maniac who still thinks it is 1999. Much has changed since his star began to fall.
Forest managed by an out of touch dinosaur. Really bad move for Bonatini.
Everyone blaming the manager but the striker was the one who missed a great chance
Sometimes it comes down to the player and Leo sadly isn’t up to it
Scored 1 cup goal since December 2017, must be the managers.
People are quick to forget he scored 12 in 4 months so clearly has ability but for whatever reason it’s not happening at the minute.
But all that aside MON playing him the number 10 was never going to work.
Really hope he manages to find some form again. I don’t think he is the 12 in 4 months player but also don’t think he is 1 in 12 months either. He is somewhere in the middle and needs to find that form and will be a good championship player for someone when he does.
Yeah totally must be Nuno's fault he couldn't score for us lol
Martin O’Neill the manager who though Doc isn’t attacking enough!
15 months is a long minute.
A dip in form last for weeks or a few months. When it lasts for well over a season, there's a deeper issue.
Bonatini is Kevin Doyle Mk2.
Scored 12 in a team who I could probably scored min 4 in
I’m more set of his goalscoring record over 14months than 4month period
Not sure what formation Ireland played but I don’t think it was with wingbacks so I can understand him not getting many caps.
The comment that he cuts back inside too often has been shown to be idiotic this season & last. Yes he doesn’t necessarily have the pace to go round the outside constantly but he’s technically capable of getting past a man or getting into the box.
