It's a point I put to the chap next to me at the match.

The ref was cheating us through his incompetence/rule interpretation so why not work to the same like them??

We were done by Everton and Citeh early on by this sort of ****, unless we want to be screwed repeatedly to our detriment we will need to savvy up in time....the PL is all about fine margins at the business end.

I think all in all it was a very impressive defensive performance last night - Bennet and Boly's challenges along with Rui Patricio's incredible save from Willian's free kick. I also think Dendonker was very impressive when he came on - he looked very level headed and everything he did was a help in getting us over the line.

I must admit that at first, I thought Boly had got a touch mainly cos a) the ball appeared to change direction from one of them touching it, and b) if Morata had touched it, it would have gone in surely. Therefore, assumed Boly got a touch and it went out of play for a corner. After seeing 20 replays and intense scrutiny, I'm still not sure if he touched it or not.

So, for me, either Boly didn't touch the ball and went straight through Morata and therefore it was a foul - or Boly got the ball and it was a corner. Either way, the ref got something wrong - to our benefit. Not happened often this season (Boly's handball being an obvious exception) and not often happens against the so-called bigger teams, therefore we'll take it, thank you very much...

But the whole thing was only a penalty-or-not-a-penalty debate - dubious shout at best, with no real claims from Chelsea (or Moss would probably have given in to big team pressure and he'd have given it, obviously!) - no guarantees that they would have scored it - therefore I'm with Sarri, there are bigger things for Chelsea to worry about - like being played off the park for the last half an hour of a game against a mid-table, newly-promoted team who haven't won for 6 games.... :D:D:D

Sarri or not, one thing Chelsea cannot shake, is their "bad loser" disease firstly instilled by Mourinho 14 years ago...

    I honestly couldn't give a monkey's chuff.
Lots of decisions have gone against us this season, and eventually it evens itself out.
    We won and deservedly so.
Let's hope we continue in the same vein against Newcastle .
28 points before the end of 2018 is probably being too optimistic but there again I wouldn't bet against it.

You can clearly see the ball change direction definitely not a penalty. Chelsea players didn't even appeal for it.

Looking at the slow mo vid posted here, if you watch the spin of the ball, it looks like Boly gets the ball and it bounces off the back of moratas heel. Brilliant tackle.

No great appeals from Chelsea players, not even Morata himself. So there's a sure sign that it was not a pen and in fact Morata might have been worried the ref was gonna book him for a reverse **** dive sort of thing! Anyway, I'm wondering with this and the hand of Boly against City, whether the refs are in fact **** scared of the main man Boly? Good for us! Roll on Sunday for more fun and games.

We’ve all watched super slow motion, zoomed in replays of this tackle and can’t agree if it was a penalty or not. Just shows how hard it is for referees.

Not for me, seems to always side with the ref for any debatable decision. Don't find him very balanced.

As for this incident, felt it was a penalty on the replay but understood why it wasn't given.

Exactly this, Brightside. The ref has one real-time view from wherever he is on the field to make a call. Everyone else can have countless replays, slo-mos and different angles yet still can't decide but the ref has to be a cheat to either give something or not give it. The arguments against refs are ridiculous and yet still go on.

It was an incredibly tough one, and 'looked' like a penalty, but Sky Sports ex-ref and Danny Higginbottom scrutinised it from every angle and both concluded great tackle and that he definitely got a touch of the ball.

So perhaps we got a bit lucky simply because it looked like a penalty, but again - it wasn't one.

    Boly is immaculate and omnipotent.
He looks at the ball and it changes direction.

Have to say it is a very good call not to give it. (Although it probably should have been a corner)

It does look like a stone wall penalty at first until you slow it down and see he gets the ball first and then the man.
