    Love to have been there.

This is the game that enabled forest to get promotion instead and they went on to win the league and euro cup isn’t it?

The year we went down to L1 we were on the beach in St Ives.I heard 2 guys talking about football .One was a Sunderland fan who said he respected Wolves because they were a traditional team who had hit on hard times .He said he hoped we came back ASAP and hoped other fans would think the same if they went the same way.The Bolton fan said he hoped we went bust and there was only one Wanderers. After a few minutes the Bolton fan went and I piped up.The Sunderland fan thought he was a bit of a **** and we each wished each other the best.
Oh how the worm has turned for all 3 clubs. The word Schadenfreude springs to mind regarding Bolton Town.

So is the black Death Edgey but I'm glad we wont see it again !

Seriously though, as much as I hate Bolton, McGinley and the play-offs,the banned game, Chorley matches, that moronic chant, as has already been stated, you need rivals and someone to vent your spleen at or what's the point !

I'm not adverse to Horwich AFC in the vanarama second division !

Please dont use Moxey's name as some type of saviour. He was truly awful . I watched the football over his twenty year tenure.
Fosun and Mendes saw our potential - 30,000 gates in Division One showed our potential. Loyal fans that could be fleeced.
Moxey never lifted his head above the financial minutiae that was his remit from his bosses , so he wasn't completely to blame.
And where is this great man now ?

Is there a Vanarama third division, if so think you're being overly generous?

As was I. Allardyce played for Bolton (?). Gary Pierce went off injured and ?? went in goal. Can’t remember too much in fact due a surfeit of fermented vegetable juice on the way back (collection for the coach driver enabled us to end up in the pub at the island which leads to Lichfield - name?).

There was a reason there were street parties in Stoke when he joined, took a bucket load of **** from the clayheads at the time, only time I've known them to be right.

Didn't Gould go in goal? Went to Blackpool after, that's a different story and made the day even better.:D

My mate at work is friends with an ex Bolton player who still has close ties with the club, Neil Whatmore, said they didn’t even have the money for white paint for training ground lines!!

I don’t like Bolton Wanderers much for the same historical reasons as everyone else but I would not want them to go under; I went out with a Bolton girl many years ago and used to go out on the **** in Manchester with her brother and his mates, they were passionate supporters the same as anyone else, just a bit deluded about who the real Wanderers are, not their fault though just an accident of birth...

Fantastic routine, Notlob thought we’d screwed it up.

I Noticed also that Allardyce was chewing gum - 40 years on and nothing changes, wonder if he is sponsored by Wrigleys

    Amen to that Tojo.
I have always disliked Bolton as a club but I would never wish any league team to be wound up.
I remember as will many other members how bad things were for us for a few grim years in the early 1980's.
Out of darkness light has certainly returned!! :):):)
