Hate Bolton more than any other club. However, with my wolves hat off it's wrong to wish this on any club. We're all football fans in the end and Bolton fans act no different to our lot if we're honest.

This is about fans, local businesses and a lot of staff being screwed over by a corrupt and ugly owner. It happens too often and should never be celebrated imho.

What I want for Bolton is league 2 and constant failure to get promoted, whilst always being on the edge of promotion. We need to crush their hope

I agree in part. It is primarily about the owner, and like you, I have no desire to see any club fold, no matter how deep the dislike.

So, for me, I’d like to see the owner suffer. Have his reputation in tatters. Perhaps like us with the Bhattis, including their club being wound up, removed from his hands, and forced to rebuild from a lower league. When their supporters look back on him with the same utter contempt we do of the Bhattis, then I’m happy for them to move on and rebuild their club.

@sussex owners like this don't give a crap tho. He should be in prison.

Despite all the money in the game, clubs are the heart of communities and to some people a critical part of life. I have always thought the gov should have laws in place to make owners more responsible for their actions as they seem to get away with murder.

I love these sanctimonious type of posts, a bit of a fail at the end though to show you're not much different from the ones wishing they go out of business. Start off going on about the fans, local businesses and staff being screwed over then end by saying you want them stuck in League 2. As we found out, going from the Championship to League 1 meant a lot of people at Wolves lost their jobs so if Bolton drop 2 leagues and are stuck there playing in front of a few thousand a week then there will be even bigger job losses and most local businesses will desert them. It's ok if most of them get screwed over, as long as it's not all?

The thing is the likes of Bolton and Reading and certainly Walsall are totally irrelevant to us at the moment.Albion and Villa are irritable because of their close proximity but the longer we stay a Division ahead the ire will be more and more one sided-theirs .

My OP line about Moxey / Morgan was a wee bit mischievous (smiley was the clue). Knowing how much love and affection is lavished on these gentlemen, by the vast majority on this board, I was curious to see who would rise to the bait. :)

    This is just some of the business dealings of current Bolton Chairman Ken Anderson;
He was disqualified from being a company director for eight years in 2005 after being found guilty of misdemeanours relating to eight different companies, including diverting funds from businesses to his personal account. Having bought Bolton for a nominal fee of £1, he paid himself £525,000 in consultancy fees in his first year.
What happened to the fit & proper person test ?, it strikes me that the Football League or FA need to take the Fit and Proper test themselves, because they dont seem to be doing a very good job.

Im no financial whizz kid, but i notice that at 30th June 2016 they had Trading losses of £159 million quid.

Deano told me fortnight ago they are in the poop, chairman ****, that’s why he sold his share and no one will work alongside him and club in the poop or other words.

I said maybe if go down May resurge like wolves did in L1 and he said if go down he sadly expects them topple further

Hate's a pretty strong word, but some may feel that way I guess.
For my part, I despise John McGinlay for his antics that infamous day, and I'm not a great lover of Bolton Wanderers FC but do respect their history and Nat Lofthouse who was a model pro for his club and Country. I certainly don't wish for them or any other club to go out of business.
To go to their ground last season and stick four past them was a great occasion, and I wouldn't want to deprive myself of similar away days in the future although that doesn't look likely for a long time.
As for the Vlogger wherever she may be, I aint really got any issues with her too, so it's only Mr McGinlay who really boils my ****.

The McGhee connection mainly and we beat them in the play offs. In the first leg at Molineux there fans didn’t have a good experience from memory.

Don’t like them. They once let us all get to Elm Park and call a game off an hour before kick off which ****ed me off.
Also beat us 2-1 when we were 1-0 up in the last minute in 97 which pretty much ****ed up any chance of automatic promotion

I was there when the game was called off, well outside the Ground-in fairness to Reading, I think it was an absolute downpour at the wrong time that finished the game off, as far as the Ref was concerned.

It was ****ing down mate to be fair, but from memory it had been all morning. Not Readings fault I suppose but still annoying.

I went to the rearranged game on a Tuesday at the end of the season. Played terrible, lost 3-0 and they invaded the pitch at the end taking the mick.

I'm pretty sure they accused us of throwing things down on them from the John Ireland (aka Steve Bull) upper tier in the Play Off semi. I was there and didn't see anything like that, but that's not to say that it didn't happen.

I guess McGoo was another factor as mentioned above, although I think it was Leicester who poached him from Reading (we just poached him from Leicester!).

Personally, while I don't like Bolton, I wouldn't want them to fold. Rivalry is a big part of football (which is why a European league could never take the place of domestic football, but that's something for another thread altogether). Sure, I'd like to see them suffer in the lower leagues, but I'm pretty sure that even if they did fold, they'd just reappear in another guise. And if they didn't, the fans could pick themselves another, more successive and more fashionable, club to support.

Have I mentioned I ****ing hate Bolton before? I still wouldn't want them to go under though, rather they languish back in the lower divisions singing their one and only wanderers song to the 2 or 3 thousand in attendance whilst going nowhere

Those who are familiar with the fate of Sisyphus will recognise the delight of seeing them reduced to the Vanarama National league and making the play-offs every year until the end of time, but never making it back to the Football League.

It's was never, is not now, and never will be a binary choice between spend, spend, spend on the one hand and acting like Scrooge a la Morgan and Moxey on the other. There is an in-between position. Our club was royally screwed for year after year by a total lack of ambition. Yes, we were left without debt, but the playing side of the club was run down by the 2Ms to the point it was in a truly parlous state, all decent players having been flogged off. We had an absolutely monster stroke of luck when FOSUN came along out of the blue and we just happened to fit the 'sleeping giant' profile they were looking for. Otherwise we could easily have ended up dropping through the divisions once more.

As one of the founder members of the Football League, I hope Bolton survive. I'd rather have them than any number of Crystal Palaces, Bournemouths and other plastic clubs.

Our 1:0 win there in 1976/77 last game of the season when we stopped them gaining promotion and had a friendly meet after the game remains in my top 6 games ever. Horrible club, horrible fans wish them all the bad luck going.

I had my season ticket in the JI upper then. They had the same experience as every other clubs fans. Yes there was the odd pie chucked over (not by me) but to hear them talk we were worse than vikings. Pansies.
