I'm not one of those who is desperate for the return of the Liquidator - I think we've outgrown it as a club and have more affinity with Hi Ho Silver Lining and always have. My question is - are those who want it to return prepared to compromise for this to happen?

I appreciate the likelihood of it ever being played and anyone actually using different lyrics is practically slim to none, but we can test it hypothetically.

It's my ringtone.. confused the heck out of the Chavski fans on the train back to London on Wed night lol

Silver lining was brought in by Jiz. That alone is enough reason to ditch it!

If the cow shed version was to return with the clapping instead of the swearing,it would be awesome seeing the south and north bank do it.BUT that will never happen as these young uns would rather have a phone in their hands.:(

They had their chance to compromise and sing alternative lyrics - they didn't and Harry J went back in the bin.

Sheffield Wednesday sing Hi Ho by themselves mid-game. The Liquidator isnt exactly a musical masterpiece, they could get it going by themselves if they wanted to. Best not though, people may forget Nuno had a dream.

Regardless, Hi Ho needs to go.

I don’t and have never agreed with it being banned.

Football has changed and will continue changing, but they will never stop bad language.

Yes stop all racist, homophobic chants etc

The 9 year sitting near to me swears more than his dad :)

We all want a family friendly club, but this is taking it too far IMO.

    Bring it back!

Me too. I was just a kid when he came in though so it could be the sands of time playing tricks with my memory. I am sure it used to be fanfare for the common man followed by silver lining before Moxey came in.

My first season was 99/00 and I've never known Wolves not to use it.

Think Jez came the season after.

    He did.

John Richards was CEO when we sold Keane to Coventry in summer 1999. Moxey took over the following year.

I didn't realise ower Jez was now CEO of Burton. Got his mucky paws under the table there after starting as a non executive director.

That was it! I just googled him and thought exactly the same...

Was a small role he had to begin with and now he's the main man. Burton don't appear to be pulling up any trees either in L1. Feel bad for them.

Hi Ho has been played pre-match for as long as I've been going, and I first had a season ticket in 96/97. That was way before Jez showed up.

Played pre-match yes, but not what the team came out to...

The Liquidator was banned for the second time after a letter from Chf Supt Plod in Nov 02.

Must have been. First time I heard it was away at Watford in the cup early 90s at half time. Suddenly the whole away end erupted into song so it must have been a thing long before then (had never heard it at Molineux at that point). That, the allotments and a 4-1 win are my memories. We played them a week later in the league and lost. Typical Wolves.

Prior to 96ish, The Liquidator was the norm. For a period around 1996ish, we used to play a combination of either the Liquidator or Hi Ho Silver Lining for a season before games - and then shortly after that, Hi Ho became the 'norm'.

The Liquidator was never banned by the Police - they simply asked the club if they would consider not playing it. Jez agreed - and it's remained that way ever since to fit in with the club's "family club" philosophy.

I'm pretty certain I can remember Hi Ho being sung in the late 80s.
Which is pretty amazing as I was off my tits for most of that period.
