We were sniffing around him about 4 years ago and he was excellent at Swindon and Brentford. But that was pre-FOSUN. Has he done enough to warrant a £17m price tag at Huddersfield and would he make a difference to us? Where would we play him?

I really rate him, buzzing around good on the ball.

Not sure about this though, at this level.
If any truth in it, have trust in Nuno.

    Coady, now Pritchard.

Are Huddersfield becoming our feeder club?

Destroyed us on more than one occasion, even in the last month, but never worth that kind of money.

He would block MGW's progress so a no from me and not convinced he is that good. Mooy on the other hand has real quality. For the reported £15m plus we could surely do better. In any case Huddersfield wouldn't sell to a rival.

Nakajima and Pritchard dont seem the right sort of players for us to be going for to me, unless we are letting someone go...

Plays in the Number 10 role and I’d rather play MGW, Diogo or Cavaleiro there.

Good player but not an upgrade on any of them.

Nobody noticing a pattern here, if 2 most recent links are to be believed?

Both Pritchard and Nakajima are number 10s. A position we didn’t play until Wednesday, and to good effect.

Right after that, we’re suddenly sniffing around 10s.
I don’t actually think it would hinder MGW’s development to have a direct like-for-like competition.
As much as we want him to play, improve, and gain experience, the last 2 great English talents that became starting 11 regulars in their teens probably didn’t become all they could be over the course of their whole career.
Too much game time and pressure from such a young age can be almost as harmful as not enough.

Think he's the highest earner at Huddersfield too. Apparently on something like £110,000 a week.

I'd be surprised if we matched that kind of money for him.

He's a half decent player but he's not worth £15 million and not worth £110,000/week.

As above, I agree that we have MGW (even though he can't feature permanently for 90 mins because of his age); a new No 10 would block his progress so why buy him?

Would've been a good player for the championship but wouldn't take him now, would be a shame considering we've been linked with some really promising youngsters in the midfield area from AC Milan and Napoli only to end up with Pritchard from hudds

Interesting. Really liked him a few years ago.

With Morgs clearly the developing creative/attacking midfielder, where would he fit in?

Is Nuno now expanding his idea differently?

Just because they come from exotic club doesn’t mean they are all that! Pritchard is very tidy premier player

Now would he be my first choice? Nope

But would he be useful addition? Probably

Pritchard is a championship to lower end Prem player at best. There's a reason he's at Huddersfield while the likes of Franck Kiesse and Amadou Diawara are starting for likes of AC Milan and Napoli

If we want to progress then we have to spend money, Pritchard won't help us and imo we'll just be spending 15m to hinder MGW's development if we do get him

If you remember when Rooney came onto the scene, he wasn't allowed to play every match and he wasn't allowed to play the full 90 minutes. If a youngster is over-played it harms their body and diminishes their effectiveness as a pro and shortens their career.

And there really is no need for the o_O. If you don't know summat then just ask the question and the response is more likely to be a polite one. There are too many keyboard warriors on here already who post things which lead to rising temperatures.

It’s not that he can’t play 90 mins.

It’s playing 90mins every week, being a ‘first name on the team sheet’ and the constant weight of expectation, mental and physical demand that goes with it.

    Just think Rooney and Owen.
Did they really operate at their best over a sustained career, when they were first choices from Morgan’s age?
    Not for me.

Lol. It just seemed a strange thing to react adversely to.

We all want MGW to develop, but I would love us to be seriously looking at number 10s to bring in.
If anything, it’s likely better for his development and playing time, as it means Nuno fancies the new shape and position.
He’ll get to rotate in his best position, without burning him out at such a young age, rather than being an impact sub in a temporary plan B, or shoehorned in as a DM or wide.

Solid player. Is he an improvement on Costa? Probably not. Definitely not an improvement on Cavaleiro, and if Jota can keep playing like he did Weds he won’t be an improvement there either.

Add to this I wouldn’t want him standing in the way of MGW development either.

I don't know if they've been linked, but Diawara and Kessie, are different type of midfielders to Pritchard, so signing him wouldn't be an alternative to either of those two.
