I find it ironic those laughing at Villa fans for rating Grealish, and yes some do go over the top, but do not all fans do it with their best players, on here for example, I've seen people suggest that Neves is the closest player playing today to Paul Scholes, that he'll be one of the best players in the world, could potentially win the Ballon D'or, and will be playing for Real Madrid in a couple of years time.

But as I've said before, if you're going to be deluded about something, it might as well be football, as it's not really hurting anyone, as it's all just for fun.

I take your point. Personally I think Grealish is a very good player and has huge potential. Its no coincidence that Spurs and Chelsea are looking at him. He's English, which also adds a premium to any transfer of course. I don't blame Villa for valuing him as high as they do todays market tbh, but as things stands I would have said something around £20-25 million seems about right. If you can get more though fair play to you.

People have perhaps gone a bit OTT with their predictions, but I do genuinely think the sky is the limit for Neves. He has a long way to go though.

No doubt Villa Talk (****e) will say there is a missing zero due to the telex printer smudge issue!

Perfectly fair question mate. Grealishs stats from last season are nothing special, but it’s never wise to purely judge a player on stats (Neves assists stats could be described as poor yet he was comfortably the best and most important player in the division.)

Iv watched Grealish a few times on telly and I honestly love the way he can run with the ball, keeping it close to his body while committing defenders. It’s brave and goes against the modern game where this is “coached out” of a lot of players. His weight of pass is also excellent, very rare that a team mate has to break stride or sprint after the ball when he’s passed it.
I also like the way he’s got the confidence/arrogance to try and grab a game by the scruff of the neck. I left Villa Park fuming this season but had to admit that he’d murdered us.
I honest feel in the right side with the right coaching he could become a fantastic player. Bruce’s go to style is negative and for me doesn’t help him.
Time will tell, the next 24 months are crucial for him.

You really think that he'll be a £100m player in a couple of seasons? No chance. I'm interested to hear why you think that? He's not a Gascoigne, nowhere near! He's not even close to Deli Ali! P.S. can I have some of your drugs please?

As a show of support and solidarity how about we buy him and loan him back to our smaller neighbours from Aston, maybe could invest in them as a feeder club?:p

If it wasn’t for Moxey we could have been in the same situation as Villa. See how that sits with some.

For that to be correct, are you suggesting Morgan and Sir Jack were the equivalent of Xia?

Not really because they didn’t appoint an idiot as a CEO or whatever that suspended guy is for them.

3 seasons ago we could have been in **** state but we at least kept the books & now are reaping the rewards.

Thought Sir jack had to write off a huge debt under Moxey, if he'd been Xia we'd have been in the same or worse boat.

Now hang on a minute Gazza, had a few good games, and was a cheeky chappie, as for Deli Ali he still has it all to prove talented yes, but done/won nothing in the game yet, he also has a sly streak in him, Now our Ruben is a different type of player to Ali, I admit im biased but which player would i have Ali or our Ruben ?, it would be Ruben every time.. we will see who is right in the years to come..

I read today ‘Spurs should move for this £13M target’
I opened it up and they were referring to the value of Neves and yet I am laughing my ass of at the deluded valuations for Grealish .

It's a perfectly sensible balanced post.

Only thing is though, everything we're saying about Neves is true. The gold and black glasses probably skip over the odd small errors or average games here and there. But the things he does are in short supply...in world football.

'That pass' for Costa that he didn't convert. That he had no business even seeing, let alone executing with perfect weight.
    His personal GOTS competition.
Repeating the 'fluked' worldie in just 2 attempts.

Agreed, every fan exaggerates their own, favourite players. With the gold n black goggles on, Neves is already a £100m World class player.
Take them off, and he will become that at some point, since he's only 21.

I think the lad has talent, but in no way is he worth 30m now, let alone 90m in a few years. He’s unproven at the highest levels, acts more childish than many younger players like Neves. Villa financial troubles or not, I think at this stage of his career, he’s perhaps worth 10-15m, even with inflated prices for young British talent. Given Villa’s troubles, I’d expect clubs who are interested to be making offers toward the lower end, offering Villa a decent sell on clause, and then negotiating that away for more cash. Hence arriving at 15m with few or no add ons. If he moves to a PL side and realises his potential, then perhaps he will be worth tens of millions, but the majority of his peers fail to realise their potential and never become superstars. His temperament suggests he will also fail to make that step up unless he has a very good coach and is willing to change.

Especially when that boy is a young local lad. As I said earlier in this thread, he has the potential to be a top PL player in my opinion and seems to have got his act together off the pitch (even if he still rolls round like a tart when on it).

just been reading the villa forum and they really dont seem to have a clue what is coming. talk of £30m minority investors is pie in the sky. unless there is a really wealthy person or company out there with a love of villa in its heart they are in serious trouble. why, otherwise, would anyone buy out Xia now? surely it would be better to take the points deduction for administration and then start again in a "prepack"? trouble is that these days admins are becoming rarer and liquidation is more likely
