Maybe it was acceptable back then but it is an unacceptable term now .Gollies were also acceptable back in the day but not so today .
Time and attitudes moves on but with people like Eddie they don't .

    You misunderstand.

He wasn't using the term in a racist way. Completely different usage https://robertlindsay.wordpress.com/2011/01/05/the-meaning-of-nignog/

I agree that anyone with half a brain wouldn't use the term because of the much more common usage, but he hasn't got half a brain. Buying up the tickets around him at the Poorthorns to stop any kids for a quid sitting by him was the latest episode!

Eddie is the best thing on there, don't think he takes himself too seriously it's just football debate. Sometimes old people say racist things which are used to mean something else, they just need educating. Probably the equivalent of me using the word "gay" to describe something lame in 40 years time and my grandchildren being horrified. Things change and they change quickly.

Isn't Eddie supposedly a very successful man who built himself up from nothing?

No I did understand it's just that as you say anyone with half a brain cell would realise the modern day connotations that's all.

An Albion fan phoned in last week saying he would take Leon Clarke, he also said he would prioritise a cup run over the league. Eddie does my head in, every times he's on he says he has watched more football than anyone and knows more than anyone else.

I can't stand Rego. He shoots down anyone who says anything positive about Wolves and constantly mocks us.

He's like Bobby Robson/Jack Charlton constantly getting his words jumbled. Just an old character much like there are many aged Wolves Supporters who are characters. Very harmless. Rego makes good points when he says none of us truly know what is being spent on wages and other fees separate from transfer fees.

    Man makes my blood boil.
Apparently we're gonna have a hiccup next season? but according to the impartial Rego, it won't be a hiccup but a belch, LOL.
How is that being neutral to all Midlands teams, which the station bangs on about?

Don’t get me wrong some Wolves fans are going over the top as we won’t be anywhere near the top 6 but of course we can compete with the likes of Brighton, Huddersfield, Watford, Bournemouth & Burnley let alone the 2 others that come up with us & whoever escapes relegation.

It won’t be easy but pushing for the top half is definitely achievable if we get the transfers right.

Some Wolves fans are, but i do actually thinkif we bring in 3 really good players to add to the squad we have right now then a top 8-10 finish isnt out of the question.

That’s the thing though, off the top of my head players like Loftus-Cheek, Shelvey, D Gayle, Knockeart would/have been top players at this level but are all struggling one way or another but then again are Leicester, Watford, Burnley that much better on paper?

It’s really a fine balance & all about confidence but is the step up that different these days?

My worry is we’ll do well next season then lose a few of our top players & struggle to replace them. No matter the season you have the CL teams will always be able to take the best.

I dont think its a huge step up for the majority of our players tbh. With three key players, possibly 4 through the spine of the team and we would be very competetive.

Not even Mendes has a limitless pool & say once Neves replaces Henderson as the next Alonso at Liverpool where do we go, are we just another Southampton?

As I said a fine balance, most would have sold Coady for £2m in the summer but now the same posters think he’s worth well over £10m & can push into the England squad.

It’s all about the fit of the team, style & the manager imo. Luckily we have this. For some reason I keep going to Van La Parra as another example of this, Udders sitting pretty & he starts most games.

I want to say something about this "top six" stuff as I at first thought it was just hot air nonsense, but then recently I have been thinking about it differently and maybe, even if it is wishful thinking, it will show how others might have also come to the conclusion that it is possible.

Let's say you split the Premier into the following...
Teams that are not really Premier teams.
Teams that are proper Premier teams.
    The top six.

The "not really" teams are the ones constantly fighting relegation, they start each season with the goal of staying up.
The "proper" teams are few and far between, these are teams that belong there and their goal is to get in the top six.
The "top six" teams are constantly battling trying to be number one and trying to stay in Europe.

I think we could be a "proper" Premier team right now, I really do not think we would be fighting relegation. Certainly with a purchase here and there we could be one even if you think not yet. If you then accept that we are a proper premier team then that would mean we are trying to get into the top six spots and with a bit of hard work and maybe an element of luck we could do it. That does not mean we are a top six club by any means, we would still be a proper premier team, but the aim would be a top six spot and, logically, if you do not think it is possible then that means we would instead be a team fighting relegation and I think we are above that if I am honest.

So that is the, probably somewhat flawed, logic that I can use to think "maybe we could be top six". It seems unreal, but once you accept that being in the top six does not automatically make you a "top six" club as that takes a lot longer, it becomes a little more understandable what people are saying and not so far fetched as it sounds.

Anyway, just something to think about, maybe they aren't so mad after all.

Good sides will always re-invent themselves and come again and that is what we need to do.We all know we can't just walk into the PL with the exact set of players ,some more will come in and some will move on .Mendes will help I am sure.

This is what we have to do, no team in any league can simply do nothing in terms of getting new players in and expect to progress.

He was just been down right obtuse last night. One guy phoned up and said this is the best STYLE of football he has seen in forty years at molinuex and "Rego" was sniggering away before the caller had even finnished making his point, which by doing so meant he actually miss understood the point the caller (from Ludlow) was making. Then he started harping on about how this Wolves team haven't won anything yet.......complelety irrelevant to the point that was been made and a very poor bit of broadcasting I felt! Pat came on shortly afterwards and called Rego out for being the snivelling little weasle that he is. Rego then played the 'I'm winding you all up' card.....****er!
