He walked from blackburn they said.
Where has he said we don't need any?
Have I missed something when did he say this? Any links? All I've heard is that this group need some help but we need to move some players out.
Thought so. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Clearly FOSUN woke up and smelled the coffee and I think Mr. Shi has been "sidelined" a bit. I suspect more top-down decisions are being made from higher up.
Within the world of FOSUN, of which Wolves are not a major part, Jeff Shi is only a "middle manager."
We are about mid-table and we seem to be improving. But we are not top 6 this year. As I have stated before, we are not getting relegated. So there is little incentive to lose even more money this year for FOSUN. If they can add one person and ship off 5-6, great. But I think they are happy adding no one.
To me, all this is a sign they have stopped trying to please the "un-pleasable" fans who think no limit of losses is too much and are continually angered that Wolves are not in The Champions League, where they think we belong by right.
In my opinion, FOSUN is getting a handle on "reality" and starting to act like proper owners. Good for them.
Don't be so stupid, there are plenty of posts, including ones I have written explaining FFP so I suggest you go there as it is a very expansive and informative thread and I don't want to clog this one up with the same information.
What a load of supposition and general crap. You have absolutely no idea what Fosun are about or how they run and are talking a whole world of ****e about losses. Go and read the thread on FFP and see the reality.
Saying the same thing over and over doesn't make you right, it just makes you boring.
If Fosun want to compete then they cant allow teams like Derby ( look at their squad), with no Premiership football for many years. They seem to be buying players and changing managers. Where is their FFP excuse , along with QPR, Bournemouth and others ? Do we roll out a white flag to these clubs and the newly relegated Premiership teams ?
We need to acquire better players in every window. That is called continual improvement.
I think we started the season trying to bring in players who would cut it in the premier league and forgot they need to be good in the championship too. In hindsight ( and tbf on my part, this is something i have always said we should do ) we should have been spending our money on the better championship players to build the core of our squad, as they generally make solid premier league players, then add to them with some astute foreign buys and promising players from the lower leagues.
I still dont buy this " you need to know the league, you need championship experts " cobblers. A group of good footballers who can operate as a team will always be successful, no matter what their background. Benitez has no championship experience, just a very good squad of players and they are working well together.
You keep telling me to read the FFP thread. If you look, I have many posts IN that thread. I also want to point out that many, many of my threads get "likes" from others. They do not prove I am right, of course, but they do indicate my views are not alone, here.
Some people think all aggression is equal. I do not. He has been an troll to me literally out of the blue the last few days. I am not sure I even recognize the guy until the other day. He follows me around and makes it personal in thread after thread. It was yesterday I saw he also did the same to another guy on a thread about Price.
If we win on Saturday then I can't see us doing much business in the chaos that is the January transfer window. We will wait until the summer to recruit a striker and additional quality defenders. 13 points off a playoff spot. Not really going to happen. No point in joining a bidding war on average players.
I think this season will be the bedding in for Ronan and Bright and we'll nurse back the wounded.
Reckon we'll go for it next year and Lambert will be backed accordingly.
There's also a risk that we fail to strengthen, get relegated and Lambert gets the sack
There's always going to be risk. If we win on Saturday then I think we will start to climb the table and distance ourselves a little. Confidence is quite high and Villa look very depleted at the moment.
Looking at all the great players we are being linked with and now the Haiti guy I'm concerned about them blowing mendes out the picture because there's no doubting he has had a hand in getting our better players. Could be a big mistake in the long run imo
No closer to making any signings.
Don't know whether to be worried by the above or not. Still well over two weeks to go but likewise the early doors activity Lambert himself spoke of hasn't happened. Each passing day means movements in and out will be under more time constraints.
Haven't given up hope of seeing a new signing or two sign on but likewise can't help but feel this seems a case of same old same old right now.
Just the same soundbites was when Jackett was here, Essex. Really poor they haven't got anyone yet, in my opinion.
may as well close this thread looks like Wolves Jan Transfers is quite an oxymoron! Should have had at least 1 in and a couple of outs by now I think. Just hope the lack of business does not come to bite us on the **** come the end of the season. If we done strengthen the really tough games coming up could easily see us below the line.
I agree. Looking Moxeymorgan as well.
You never know, summat might develop close to the death.
I'm beginning to think that we've given up.
When do we declare it "all talk" and Morgans fault?
Christian Fuchs apparently started following various Wolves twitter accounts over the weekend and a few Wolves fans. Seems a strange on as he is regular at Leicester. Maybe knows someone who is joining us?
If he leaves will the headline in the Leicester Mercury be
Fuchs Off ?
Seems like he just follows anyone and anything he sees on twitter.
He's recently followed Stourbridge too.
He did, but also did the same for Sheff Weds accounts last week. He follows 87,000 people so probably just enjoys keeping up to date on all things football.
It can't be him! But he was at Schalke between 2011-15 and given Lambert's German connections, stands a good chance it could be an ex-teammate of his.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar? He's 33, not getting regular football and fits the bill! Wishful thinking maybe?!
Or like others have said, probably just a complete co-incidence.
Another bit of shooting in the dark conjecture from someone sitting in his bedroom.
Why did I post it? Because it demonstrates the futility of the rumour mill which gets picked up by those who are taken in by it and gets circulated across social media despite the lack of substance.
He follows Longeran and his wife, could be many reasons none of which would see him come to the wolves
Post match interview on Saturday Lambert was still saying that he wants to bring in a couple of players. He was quite clear, however, that whilst he is in charge there will not be a repeat of what went on this summer with numerous new faces appearing all at once.
Bit like the days of Julian Dicks playing for Liverpool-he was injured and the Liverpool paper headline was 'Dicks out'!
Am i the only one totally bemused by us not trying to bring back Keane? He would offer us so much and would still be very effective. Can't work it out.
The thing is until transfers are completed we generally never know if contact is made with players .We may have asked .He may have said he doesn't want to come back .
Possibly, but I'm fairly confident we haven't approached Robbie at all.
The most important part of a team is the team balance and spirit . Witness Leicester 2016 and Man Utd 2013 to 2016.
While most would love to see one or even two superstars drafted in to our team , what would Keane or a player like Rhodes do to that balance. Would they dominate a squad that to date seems to have few strong characters.
I hope we get a signing or a nice rumour today. Feeling a bit bored.
We may as well close this thread hadn't we, nothing to see here
its gone so quiet is that a good thing or a bad thing ,next lambert will say im happy with the squad then all of a sudden wolves will sign three quality players on deadline day lol
And here was me thinking that the annual January transfer tumbleweed was a thing of the past!!
As things stand it looks prudent to keep our pennies for the summer rather than pay over the odds when we have a bloated squad. That said a but a bad run post January and it might not look so savvy.
