Samuels and Perry are 15
The latter has just been offered a professional contract for when he is 18
Thats our u18s, there isnt a single u23 in the side is there?
Rowe??? Any relation to tommy?
Any news on what the squad is for tonight? Hoping Ronan is back to fitness.
It's on here mate,
I can post it in this thread too:
Would you believe I work on computers all day and have done for the last 10 years and couldn't figure out how to attach an image
LOL.. I have worked with IT for 25 years and also didnt know at first.. and still dont know if I am doing it right. I save the pic from whatever website, makes this whole window smaller and move the pic into this frame, and then press "full image". Does not work with copy and paste. Maybe my solution is not the "proper way" to do it, but it works..
anyone heard anything about u23 players going out on loan, I'm going to assume (by their recent absences from the u23's) that Deslandes & Wilson are on the way out somewhere?.... I notice that Eastleigh have extended Odoffins' loan until the end of the season, wondering if Gloucester will do the same with Finnie.
u18's lost 1-0 away to the scum today
Wolves Under 23s return to #PL2 action tonight as they take on @Rovers at @telfordutd. Kick-off 7pm. #Academy
Already ducking out?
We are winning 3-0. Donovan Wilson has come on after a few weeks out injured and scored twice. One apparently a brilliant goal and the other with a fantastic piece of skill from Gibbs-White for the assist.
Hope PL is there to see them
FT another good win, well done lads
Still very much in the running for a play-off place.
Would be great if we could get promoted - it would be a great shot in the arm for our academy and youth policy.
Herc injured first half yesterday. If someone has news about it please post here. Would not be nice if he is out for weeks/months.
I struggled to find the new twitter address and maybe others also will in the future. Would be nice if you can update the very first post i this thread with the new one: ( https://twitter.com/Wolves_Academy )
Cup action at Telford for Scott Sellars' squad
Wolves Under-23s welcome Everton to AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head tonight in the next fixture in the Premier League Cup (7pm).
Recent signing Duckens Nazon is in the squad for the first time, joining recent first team debutants Connor Ronan and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Everton top Division One of the Under-23 Premier League, and also Group D of the Premier League Cup with six points from their first three games.
Wolves and Norwich both have four points, and Portsmouth two, with the top two teams in the group progressing to the knockout stages.
Admission at Telford is free for Wolves’ Season Ticket Holders – otherwise £5 adults, £3 concessions and £1 Under-16s.
SQUAD: Ruddy, Brown, Simpson. Breslin, Deslandes, Leak, Johnson, Levingston, Ronan, Gibbs-White, McKenna, Carnat, Randall, Armstrong, Delacoe, Nazon, Wilson.
Tonight's Wolves U23s team vs @Everton @nazon28 makes his debut, @ChristianHerc is out injured, @ConnorRonan10 returns from injury.
It will be interesting to see how Duckens Nazon performs.
Currently 0-1 thanks to Will Randall
Ouch. Penalty to Everton and 1-1. 84 min.
I followed the game at Bet365 live betting.
We seemed to have been better first half, but Everton were slightly better second half.
"Dangerous attacks": 35-32
Shots on goal: 3-8
Shots not on goal: 13-6
Sounded like Ruddy was kept busy in the 2nd half. I was following on the Everton site
good result against currently the best u23 team in the country
Does anybody nozen how Duckens performed??
TaffyWolf was there and wrote some good input in the duck thread: http://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/index.php?threads/duckens-nazon.193505/page-12#post-4893326
Thanks eider better go and look at it!
In terms of numbers, how does our academy compare to others? are we short of numbers?
We have a hell of a lot of players playing above their natural ages, which inevitably reduces the quality of the team they left behind. It is great seeing the young lads progress from the u18's to the 23's and even the first team but it does seem to have left a big void in the u18's. They are getting beaten week in week out.
In addition they have just been spread even thinner by playing (and getting spanked) in a German tournament. Surely getting spanked every week by older lads is detrimental to their development?
I think it is detrimental as you say but there are people here who always say results don't matter at that level. I think that is nonsense. These boys need to develop their confidence - being smashed by older age group players will have exactly the opposite effect. Of course the results matter even if the underlying effort is to improve individuals so that they can challenge for a place higher up the food chain.
hope Herc is ok
What is wrong with Herc NWW?
12 months ago people were complaining about the u23s doing badly, now 12 months on things look far more rosey.
There are a number of u16s playing at the moment who in 12 months time will be a little bit bigger and tougher. Im not going to worry too much about them at the moment.
Wolves Under 23s travel to Newcastle United in a Monday night PL2 clash.
Scott Sellars' side are currently fourth in the league table after 13 fixtures but have two games in hand over the teams above them.
The Under 23s' last outing was a 1-1 PL Cup draw with Everton, who are currently top of PL2 Division 1.
Wolves' last league fixture was a 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at the New Bucks Head earlier this month.
Newcastle approach Monday's game following a 3-1 PL2 defeat to, league leaders, Swansea City.
The young Magpies are one place and one point ahead of Wolves in the table.
Daniel Armstrong, Anthony Breslin, Rory Brown, Nicu Carnat, Joe Delacoe, Sylvain Deslandes, Cameron John, Connor Johnson, Ryan Leak, Conor Levingston, Dan McKenna, Duckens Nazon, Will Randall, Jack Ruddy, Aaron Simpson, Elliot Watt & Donovan Wilson.
I still harbour hopes of achieving promotion via the playoffs!
Hahaha, the great divide between pushing for the playoffs and those happy with a point at Barnsley
I was of course talking about the U23's getting promoted via the playoffs.
