Winning 1 0
Was PL there, too?
I think they went to Wales this afternoon
As it stands now.
1 Swansea City U23 12 +11 30
2 Wolves U23 11 +7 22
3 Fulham U23 12 +10 21
4 Newcastle Unit… 12 +1 20
5 West Ham Unite… 12 +1 18
Is it the top two that go up?
Always nice to beat Sandwell , Ronan sounds the real deal ...
How would the u23 central midfield of Herc, Ronan and Prince fair against Saiss, Coady and Edwards? It would be an interesting battle.
Well done lads
Wonderwolf - I think it is the top team automatically goes up then a play-off between the next 4 teams provides the other team to be promoted.
Great result well done lads
Seems a bit unfair but it I suppose it extends the season and makes it more competitive and exciting.......we'll beat the Boggies in the final to go up!
Excellent result. Well done lads.
Question about a February game. According to Wolves official website the postponed U23 game vs Stoke have been rescheduled for Tuesday 14th Feb at 7.00. Venue at Telford. Same day as the Wigan game at Molineux. Is that really correct?
I would LOVE that
Me too my friend. To get promotion that way would be outstanding!
Stark contrast to last season. Well done Scott and the lads on turning it around. Hopefully see some players in the 1st team this season. Carnt be any worse
u18's got dumped out the FA Youth Cup 2-1 by Swansea tonight
We always seem to get dumped out early doors.
I understand Herc was bought in and wasn't the best, gave a penalty away. Scott Sellars wasn't happy by all accounts and made it known at full time
Should have won and a below par performance
u18's lacking severely in confidence, can't buy a win at the mo, hope the u23's put up a better show against swansea in the checkatrade trophy
I guess that's the problem with a very very young team. they are fragile and likely to struggle when a few results don't go their way. I think to a certain degree the u18s have been sacrificed to push players in to the u23s. Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, and it has allowed a couple of 15 year olds gain valuable experience with the u18s and now don't look out of place at all
Yet more failure for our vaunted youth system. Swansea were on poor form apparently. Yet again we are nowhere in an important Cup competition and we all know Stoke will dump us out sharpish when the seniors play. What will be the excuses this time I wonder - leaves on the pitch?
Do teams ever fire U18 managers for team performance? Seems like the U23 is great and the U18 is really lagging.
To be fair, the u18s were great last year with the u23s performing dreadfully.
Didn't the u18s go fairly far last season in the cup? A shame they were knocked out but is it an "important cup competition"?
On the face of it, it does appear like that. But in reality the core of the u18's team is playing in the u23's and has been replaced by the most advanced u16's.
That is exactly the problem the U18's had foisted on them - all their best players went to the U23's!!
Well done to Connor ronan, harry Burgoyne and Donovan Wilson all have signed new contracts
Wolves Under-21s trip to face Swansea Under-21s in the @CheckatradeTrpy has been scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday, January 10th.
The game will be played at the Liberty Stadium, and ticket details will be announced in due course.
Ross Finie has moved to Gloucester City today. His name doesnt seem to have come out much recently. Is much hoped of him?
decent player, had a run in the u23's earlier in the season
Chance to support young team in last 16 tie
Hopefully we can take a good number of fans to Swansea and give the lads the usual level of excellent backing"
Wolves are offering free coach travel for supporters wishing to attend the Checkatrade Trophy fixture at Swansea City on Tuesday, January 10th (7pm).
Please come on down. I want to be surrounded by Wolves' fans not a load of Jacks!!!!!!
