We are in a market where Leonardo Bonnuci comes £15m cheaper than Kyle Walker. Nothing is surprising anymore!

Hearafter known as the Connor Coady surcharge.

This is why Bournemouth would want considerably more back than they paid for Afobe, despite him being a relative failure there. Madness.

However good, bad or indifferent a player is he is worth exactly what another club is prepared to pay for him.

He could turn out to be brilliant and make it look a bargain. As he is still so young.

However that is a big IF. good luck to the lad

Ojo is very good. Much better than he seemed at Molineux where is was shunted out on to the wing where he was never suited. We've been doing it for years. He would suit our current formation but we have such players already.

That's the problem in this Country, we bull players up to be very good when in all reality he is merely a young player with potential who has done nothing in the game so far.Time will tell if he pushes on.

I never rated Ojo very much when he was here but recently he played brilliantly when I saw him play for the U21's.
In a good team the lad can clearly play well.
As Kenny B rightly said above if Newcastle are prepared to pay £10M for him then that is what he is worth.
British player's command a far higher price than a foreign equivalent.
We should do well to remember this when we eventually sell on players such as Iorfa, Hause and even Mason.

He's been rotting in Liverpools reserves and seems to have made two cup appearances, none in the league, since he was here. How's that worth £10mill

I disagree. He may fetch that price but it doesn't mean he's worth it. I'd say that he's worth £2 million and is Chumpionship standard.

Seemed to be work a lot better as an impact sub for us, whenever he started a game he didn't do a lot at all. Liverpool supporting work colleague of mine seems to rate him, but I didn't see enough when he was with us to justify a £10 million price tag.

He has been struggling with injuries this season, but last season he got 3 assist in 8 appearances in the Premier League for them.

3 assists in 8 games for a top club when in and out of the side and only making bit part appearances is actually a very good record.

£10M for Ojo is madness but if Newcastle are prepared to pay such a ridiculous OTT price for him that's their business. Clearly hasn't made it at LFC who I can only imagine must be over the moon at getting such a fee for a very average player.

I wouldnt give 10 English new pence for Ojo yet alone 10m , One of the worst players ive ever seen play in gold and black , i put him in the same ilk as Dave Beasent against Bolton

And to think, around the time we had Ojo, Neves was captaining Porto in the Champions League.

That makes me smile all day! :D:D:D:D:D

The dislike of Ojo is one of the most baffling things in the history of Wolves fans in my opinion. Sure, he wasn't as good as Sako (who he was brought in to replace) but he's nowhere ****ing near as bad as some of you make him out to be. It's ridiculous. Not to mention he was only 18 when we loaned him.

He's worth it at the moment they sign the cheque. Whether Newcastle get value for money is a completely different matter!

What was pathetic was Jackett putting him on the left wing, when it was obvious that he is more suited to the right wing where his strength of coming inside and playing neat intricate football could be utilised instead of being forced down the wing on to his favoured left foot where he would get muscled off the ball. But £10 million is way too much.

He was a rubbish signing for us, but I don't really blame him. In fairness he showed some ability in fits and starts whilst he was here. Fulham and Blues away for example?

The fact is M&M replaced one of our standout attacking players (someone who Moxey went on record as stating it would take £10 million to replace properly) by spending £250k on Jed Wallace and loaning an 18 year old Ojo. This after narrowly missing out on the playoffs the previous season. He was given some pretty big shoes to fill tbf and shouldn't have been.

Would I pay £10 million for him as it stands? No way, though I know prices for young English players do get over inflated. Would I be surprised if he goes on to do well and forge a decent career for himself? Not really, but as with any youngster it can go either way.

That's where our opinions differ, mate.

If they don't get value for money then he isn't worth it and I suspect that they won't. It's a typical Benitez signing/gamble.

He directly contributed to 5 goals in 543 minutes. Maybe if he ran around some more instead of scoring and assisting goals, fans would have liked him, instead of having a thread dedicated to bashing a kid we had on loan for half a season two years ago who has since gone on to play for Liverpool's first team as well as attracting interest from Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

Mate he was complete and utter dog ****

I can tell you this as i saw him struggle first hand, even against poorer sides in the cups iirc

Being involves in 5 goals in 600 minutes means jack **** at the level of games he was playing in

We are all in agreement that he was poor, so i'm not really sure what you have seen or whether you are just trolling

Its 9 million too much . If we have signed him regardless of the fee I would have been very disappointed as we already have better and I would be expecting much better signings ( and thats for Wolves in the Championship ) . If he was a quality player would Klopp really let him go ?
He will struggle in the Premiership as will Newcastle if this is the standard they are getting in .
At 10 million he is a massive gamble .

Ojo wasn't rubbish its the underestimating again of the toughness of the championship. Because hes from Liverpool people expect a mini messi in the championship.

Like Cbj playing next to Blind and Carrick behind Martial it paints a picture of a class player when in reality the quality of his teamates mask and protect his weaknesses.

Ojo was a good 18 year old from a good academy I don't know what people expect, same as Borthwick the league is so so tough.

I repeat, apart from the top 8 teams in the Premier League and the top top players, the difference between the rest and good championship players is minimal

Who was disappointed when he went back to Liverpool? Not many I would wager.
A successful loan is someone like Kenny Miller or Costa where you can't wait/are desperate to get them in permanently.

It's not Ojo's fault, the price tag he comes with but anyone saying he is actually worth that and will make ten million quids worth of difference to a first team must have been watching a different player to me. 2 goals for Wolves, one of which came against the mighty Barnett as we struggled to a ponderous 2-1 cup win at home.

Newcastle have a habit of buying "well rated" wingers from big clubs that then fail to impress, Gabriel Obertan from United, Keith Gillespie etc. I just don't see on what basis Liverpool are buying him other than in hope that he might come good, it's not as though he has wowed with regularly good performances on his return to his home club.

He was woeful mostly when he played for us.

That said, he was just a teen at the time and was attempting to fill Sako's rather good shoes, to which it turned out he wasn't fit to polish.

No hard feelings towards him, he did after all score against the Blouses, hope he does well up there.

The buying club obviously think he's worth it at the point they buy him. What happens after alters his future worth.
