I can confirm Wolves have finished their business this transfer window. Will Norris was actually signed as a striker.
But the idea that an experienced striker will automatically fire us up isn't that reliable either to be fair.
I agree it isn't black and white, McCormack was a flop for Villa as was Freddy Eastwood for us... In general though I think it's been proven the more you pay in wages the better chance you have of success.
Simply has to be right player, right system.
I agree - Chris Iwelumo and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Steve Bull and Andy Mutch. Right players right system.
I just don't agree with bringing in kids we've never heard of who to all intents and purposes are most likely to flesh out the bench and play cup games at the expense of our our kids.
No, I. Am Spartacus.
No. I'm Spartacus
George Saville? It's noticeable that none of them have managed more than a couple of appearances for Chelsea's first team.
I can also confirm, there are a lot of want petters on here,OR Even Pant wetters.
No I'm Brian...
This caught my attention. I've heard a lot of stuff about this kid from a Chelsea fan who I work with and he's supposed to be their top academy player, better than Sturridge at same age, and he was worried that Liverpool or Everton were going to snap him up / Chelsea lose him as he's out of contract next year. Apparently though, he's frustrated that he's never gonna get anywhere near the first team. I would take him in a shot, and if we have the money, then I reckon he's worth a gamble.
out of contract in 2018, yes please with view to perm
Woohoo I am Spartacus
I'm Spartacus, and so is my wife!!!
Now that's what I call a straight answer - and must state I know nobody at the club,
He might be a good player, but I'm not sure why we need to bring in a promising striker on loan when we have a couple of our own here already.
THIS IS SPARTA!!
So stop arguing.
No! I am Spartacus!
Because maybe they feel this kids better than our youngsters and he can make more of an impact?
Maybe, but if there is no chance of a permanent deal, i just cant see the point.
Unsurprisingly been told he can leave on loan. Won't be named in the Chelsea squad this season.
Remember a tweet from Nash saying we would take a young striker from City or Chelsea once their squads are announced. Looks on the money.
Down to us or Leeds for Ugbo
leeds I guess but I hope he signs for wolves
Don't see why you think Leeds automatically. They've brought 2 forwards and have Chris Woods so starting places will be tough. Also you could argue that playing with Costa, Neves and Cav is potentially very good for the players development.
I'd imagine Chelsea might be keen on Bristol after Abrahams success last season.
Maybe they or he won't pick us but I think we've got to be pretty attractive (if we're in for him at all).
Careful, or all of this could go a bit Mrs. Walsall. Except with togas. Or without.
...because some of them might be part of the Chelsea team in a year or so?
Lots of top strikers start at youth level at massive clubs and then leave for game time.
Lukaku at Chelsea, Sturbridge at City and to a degree Chelsea, Andy Cole at Arsenal etc
You can also include the likes of Afobe, Sylvan Ebanks Blake, Bamford etc
The top youngster from an elite prem club is a good route for us.
The point is to get promoted.
Imagine what kind of striker we could be signing in the prem with Mendes on board?
But he won't be coming in as the main man up front. We have players here already to come into the side when needed. I just don't see the point in bringing in a Chelsea youngster to fill that sort of role when we have others, including Ennis, who can do that job for us. We need a quality striker first and foremost.
It's disappointing Ennis not gone to Austria. He was the brightest star of our youth policy not so long ago.
Hope he gets an opportunity this year..
Signed for Barnsley
Hopefully means we are pursuing more proven options
come on mr mendes work your magic and sign wolves couple of quality strikers please
That's a great signing for them. They seem to do very well with loanees. I can definitely see them staying up again.
Agreed. I'm personally gutted...
Barnsley, not much ambition then!
