    4/1 favourites.

Very likely a complete pile of crap but on the basis of assuming nothing and never say never there's always a possibility.

Not a nice thought but like it or not if he is leaving at the end of this season I just want Wolves to make as much money as possible. I'd prefer he went to a better club in the PL than that lot but monies the same whoever it comes from.

I wondered how long it would be until this rumour appeared this summer!

Could happen let's face it, as disappointing as it would be I'd be less upset than had Sako made the move.

Should he join the boggies try and look at it like this. Over the years Wolves have taken several players from them for next to nothing and who have turned out brilliantly for Wolves, Bully, Thommo, Robertson and Dennison. All of those have played a major part in reviving the club and lifting them out of the doldrums.

In comparison players moving the opposite direction have not exactly set things on fire for them. Should Costa join them then it will be nice just knowing that in a few short months Wolves make a massive profit on the player.

At least he wouldn't have to live in West Bromwich although he would have to travel there often! Hope he doesn't go anywhere to be honest.

West Brom won't spend what we will ask for on Costa. Not a chance.

    No story.

These days, there would be hot rumours about this if this was anywhere near true.

He hasn't been sold at all. Yet.

Tend to agree but the chance to play PL football, bigger wages, massive signing on fee and likely no need to move are all plus points in the boggies favour. And much as I'd prefer he stayed put or at least went to a big PL club it really doesn't matter where the money comes from as long as Wolves make a tidy profit.

Could well be right but they have shown as seasons pass they are spending more so I'd assume nothing.

Deals do go ahead at times out of the blue though Sketchead. Not saying it will and this all might be rubbish.

If he goes he'll be going to a bigger club than Albion, probably one with Champions league aspirations if it's a Premier league club. As for the fee I'd expect it to be big, I mean say if someone bids £20M, when you subtract the £13M that was paid for him in January that's like only getting £7M for him which seems unfair to me. I'd want £25M at least, barmy prices for barmy times.

To be honest unless he gets an offer from a team like say Chelsea or Monaco, then I think he might give it one more season at Wolves, as he's still young. If he was to go to Chelsea he'd might even return on loan.

I would be very shocked if he went there. I doubt they would pay the price for starters, and secondly they are not in the Mendes loop. It's not impossible but it would shock if it happened.

I do tend to agree with those who think he wouldn't go there whilst still assuming nothing but it makes me wonder why a well known betting organisation have them installed as favourites to sign him. Do they know something we don't?

Just a thought, it would be a massive jump from let's say Wolves and Champiomship football to Monaco and Champions League football, could we sell him but get him on a loan back?

Maybe I'm being idealistic but imagine if keeping him for a year and having the funds to put quality around him.

    A boy can dream!

I see the article by the ever inventive HITC site has created a £ 20 million release clause, strange no one else reporting that.

If he's already been sold there would be rumours that this has happened surely! Something always comes out of the woodwork along the line and journos always find something out but there's been zilch!
However secret the deal or how confidential they try and make it little bits always come out.

Google HITC and Bet Victor and you get loads of links to the HITC site with stories about Bet Victor making certain players favourites to join certain clubs, and most of them never came to fruition. Wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of deal between the two companies to create revenue.

I hate these betting companies, especially the way they try and act all bantery on twitter as if they're people's friend, when all they want is their money.

As a none betting man, other than in Vegas, I don't know a great deal if anything about these sites Torcher so thanks for the info.

Again not a betting man but if I were I'd only wager a very small amount.

    Yup.

The bloke's moved from Portugal to France to Wolves - I'd be willing to bet very large sums (on BetVictor) that location plays no part in his choice of next move.

Very good point. Maybe if he really did want to stay to play in the PL then the closeness might help in any decision making but as you say.

Then they'll have a very long wait.

Thing is mate much as we dislike the boggies is there any difference between the millions they pay out to any other club? Once he leaves Wolves, if he does of course, he will no longer have anything to do with them. I'd prefer he stayed but accept he may well go and if so all I want is for Wolves to make as much money as possible.

Cheers. Think in all my years I've only placed a bet a few times and most of them was when a bloke in a job I had as a teenager nipped down the bookies and I'd have a 50p flutter. Love gambling in Vegas but that's just for fun and I accept it's unlikely I'll win much although that said I never come away out of pocket.:D

Yes, if he goes (and almost certainly he will in my view), I hope it is to a club like Chelsea (where he wouldn't be a regular starter) who then loan him back to us for the season.

Wouldn't it make more sense if he went to someone inside the Mendes loop? Tho then again asking for a high price might then be difficult.

If Monaco have come in for him, you can't blame him one iota for leaving.

We have to wheel and deal though, it's how we will progress. Fans must accept that this is part of the process where we hopefully evolve.
