Not a priority position for me but better than what we have and a £1m deal this week would be good business

Can't see them selling for that, even with his contract up.

A bit like us with Sako a few years ago, worth the wait to help him keep you up (or go up as we tried with Sako).

Tbh, I'd prefer to wait and sign him for free in the summer than spend the £3-4m that's probably required, but unfortunately we could end up missing out on him in that case!

Interesting choice of words by Nixon in that article calling him a 'Stabilising Figure' for us. We certainly need a right back anyway

Thats because he's wanted out for a long time. He's not long rejected a new contract. How many times have we had players playing here and wanting out and suddenly turning ****.

You can probably name any player in the Championship and there will be fans calling them donkeys. I can guarantee you there are Brentford fans who think Hogan is a donkey.
When EEL went out on loan, Wolves-fans were laughing and making fun of Shef Utd fans saying he's the worst CB in the world. Now Shef Utd-fans are obsessed with him and Wolves-fans are crying for him to come back.
In short, I don't trust fans' opinions on players.

I did a bit of research on their forums, 12-18 months ago they were raving about him being a solid player - now he wants out and he is a useless lump. Make of that what you will

Theres even Derby and Sheff Wed fans on Twitter saying they would have him any day of the week. Sign him to play right back and it might bring out the best in Iorfa in that position knowing he now has someone to battle with, or even move Iorfa to centre back now and play marshall there.

This is Venkys we're talking about though. They sold the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Tom Cairney and Shane Duffy for the same prices as what they bought them for. I imagine £1 million should be okay particularly with his contract situation.

Ideal player to bring in - knows Lambert, knows the league and can play either at full back and right wing so an ideal signing.

Apparently Blackburn want the money ASAP to sign new players, as Coyle has his hand forced.

Particularly as the opinion is often ill informed, fair enough on occasions people have good knowledge on the player, but mostly it's not

I trust Lambert who he played under for over seven months! Why would he go out of his way to bring him here if he's a 'donkey'?

The most pleasing thing about this move is that he's a player Lambert wants, not Thelwell.

Absolutely given only six months contract outstanding. Despite being eager buyers we are in driving seat. For them it's nowt in June or £400k, max, now.

He's a solid addition, as a right back for now, and an option for right wing if we can't get a second season from Costa.

Also, makes me wonder if Lambert has an eye on three at the back with wing backs.

Or sell Iofra before the rest of the footballing world find out the lad cant control a football, pass or cross, defend crosses or do anything if it doesn't include running in a straight line.

He's a very solid player. Not the fastest. But he can play football. Has top delivery aswell. On his day he's up there with the best in the championship as a winger, As a right back you question his defensive ability, but if you want a guy thats going to give you width, quality delivery and can look after the ball, he has no problem taking the ball under pressure. What's going to help our midfield and defence tenfold when we have possession.

Only problem I would have is, you'd want to have 2 in the middle covering allowing him and Doherty to add to the attack at will. If you leave Price to do it on his own, you'll get hit on the break a lot and the defence will always look weak.

Along with Sam Gallagher he was a player who caught my eye in our televised fixture with Blackburn after Zenga was sacked. I don't know much about him otherwise but would hope he has some all round qualities to improve the squad...

No. Keep him and coach the erros out of him and make him the player he has the potential to be otherwise another team will do. Sick of us selling young players because "they wasnt good enough" then go on to be much better at other clubs. Stick with him, hes young and in the England set up on a regular basis. His career is at centre half.

I don't think you can coach him to learn how to sense danager and read balls in the air. To me it's one of them mental things you just have or haven't, like being a leader. You can try and help his technique but he'll never be great at that as he is that poor with the ball.

Ofc you can coach a player to read balls in the air. for him to sense danger, will come with experience, playing games and not sitting on the bench or at home. He's a great YOUNG player with a bright, bright future in the game. Just because he's had a bad few games/months doesnt change that. You dont become a bad player over night. Also you dont coach someone to be a leader, that comes with again experience or you are just born a natural leader. He's 21 years old, hes still young enough to play in the checkatrade trophy side! Anyone who gives up on him now is just stupid.

Snap and for daft money I mean £10+m because he will only get better. I gurantee if Connor Ronan plays 70 odd games for us and doesnt really have a break in that time, he will have more bad games than good.

I think he is the same player when he came though. Just teams have noticed his strengths and weaknesses. They know the isn't any point taking him on, but if you play the ball in the air, he doesn't read the danager and loses his man a lot, also like most of our defense, not great on the ball, if you pressure him he'll make mistakes. Also when he is looking to cross the ball, don't get to close, he'll burn you, but you don't have to anyway as he isn't the best at crossing, make the distance shorter and bloke the angle.

Again, the only way he will get better ( and he will ) is with the right coaching on the training ground and playing games. I would say get a player to give him the " arm around the shoulder treatment" but we aint got a single defender older than him who i would want to be his " tutor of the game" would just ruin him as they're all ****. There is a reason as to why Premier League clubs are looking at him, because they can see what kind of player he WILL become. Its not all about the here and now with players like him, theres something special there and we cant say that about many of the first teamers here. On the coaching front, I would love the club to bring in someone like Denis Irwin, to help the young defenders, someone to look up to, been there done that etc etc.

But he's played over 100 games and he isn't any better. Batth has 250 and neither is he. I'm not writing him off, I'm saying I'd take the 5m now over the chance of the 21 year old that has terrible technique and very poor judgement of the ball and awareness, as I don't see him improving it.

Give it two years and he still hasn't improved you'll be lucky to get a couple million for him.

Clueless clueless, I was fortunate to watch Michail Antonio when he was younger playing in the conference leagues not the greatest technique hence the conference league. Didier Drogba is well documented to have had poor technique at a similar age. No offence you must be like between 12 to 15 years old if thats what you believe I d reccomend you pull up old tapes of players like Curtis Davies ,Wes Morgan and Michael Dawson and see how they looked at 20/21. If Iorfa had all what you are talking about he would not be at Wolves at 21.

don't think he's played over 100 games, played just under 100 id my workings are correct. Also in those games he's played for a lower league Shrewsbury. He played in one good season for us just missing out on the top 6 and then the season after he played in a awful side with 0 confidence and players wanting out. With the right players next to him he will be an outstanding asset.

I'm all for giving young players time and space to improve.

It was worth sticking with Danny, and it's not for any lack of effort that he's not really improved. He tries his best, but hasn't progressed. No harm, no foul, it was worth the try. And it'll be worth showing some patience and commitment with Iorfa and Hause. But they need older heads around them to help. We'll never know if Danny might have become a better player if he hadn't been the one expected to lead. Perhaps with a Craddock next to him (or a Pollet/Butler, in Lescott's case) he'd be better now. So let's not repeat the mistake. Keep Hause & Iorfa, but bring in a leader to show them the way.
